ONCE UPON A TIME, 160 YEARS AGO...

The different rooms of the exhibition have been divided into two floors where we can find pieces from the Louis Vuitton archives and scenography.

At the entrance of the first room, 'Louis Vuitton: As seen by...', the portrait of a young 16-year-old Louis Vuitton, signed by Yan Pei-Ming, welcomes us.

Next room, 'Origins: A Tradition of Modernity' (Origins: a tradition of modernity) unfolds an impressive collection of trunks from the early 20th century made-to-order, art deco-style perfume bottles and window displays commissioned and designed by Louis Vuitton's grandson, Gaston-Louis.

THE REINTERPRETATION OF AN ICON

the third room, 'Reinterpreting Icons' (Reinterpreting icons), shows us reinterpretations of the emblematic monogram of 1896 embodied in different objects.

Among the exhibits we find treasures such as a picnic trunk that once belonged to the Egyptian prince Youssouf Kemal , the case used in the presentation of the trophy of the 2018 Soccer World Cup and some furniture from the collection ' Objets Nomads Collection'.

We can also see the box of a disc created by Helmut Lang in 1996, a punching bag designed by karl lagerfeld or a bag with the signature of Zaha Hadid.

THE MONOGRAM

In ‘The Monogram as a Blank Canvas’ (The Monogram as Blank Canvas) we are shown how the famous Keepall Bag becomes a canvas for artists such as Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Takashi Murakami or Wes Anderson.

A spell of colors and moving images On an ocurring background that hypnotizes from the first moment, it takes over our eyes and prevents us from looking away.

THE ENCOUNTER WITH ART

In the living room 'Art on Silk' We are greeted by a collection of silk pieces hanging on the wall as if they were oil paintings. And the truth is that we are before authentic works of art dating from the 80s and the second decade of the 21st century.

The next stop is ‘Art meets Fashion’, a meeting between fashion and art in the form of garments from the latest collections as well as the firm's collaborations with Stephen Sprouse, Richard Prince, Marc Jacobs and Virgil Abloh , among others.

in the seventh room 'Lights, Camera, Action! Louis Vuitton on the Red Carpet' Some of the most famous pieces await us, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, who have walked the red carpet with celebrities such as Alicia Vikander, Emma Stone or Taylor Swift.

After leaving behind the room with the red carpet –whose walls, floor and ceiling are dressed in a fun millennial pink– we will enter an immersive video installation baptized as Magic Mall: The Past is Present.

ARTYCAPUCINES

The last stop of the exhibition presents us ‘Artycapucines: Six Visions of a Contemporary Classic’ , where the new limited-edition collection of the iconic bag is on display Capucines , reinterpreted by six artists: Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self, and Jonas Wood.

The different versions of the Capucines bag – the name of the street where Louis Vuitton opened its first boutique – are displayed in colored spaces and constitute one more sample of the wonderful treasure that arises as a result of the union of art and fashion.
