Opus lands in Dubai

Simplicity has no place in Dubai . And if you want to be part of the community, you have to rise to the challenge (literally) . Opus may not be able to compete in meters, but this **posthumous work by Zaha Hadid** can certainly claim to be ostentatious, extravagant and futuristic.

Opus, designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid and later supervised by her team, will be one of the avant-garde hotels ** ME by Meliá **, which will open its doors to guests in 2020 and that it will have twelve restaurants, a rooftop and about 5,200 square meters of Offices.

"There is no doubt that ME Dubai will raise the bar for hotels in **Dubai.** We are proud to have this amazing project in our pipeline," he explained. Gabriel Escarrer, CEO of Meliá Hotels International during the announcement of ME Dubai.

This construction of **27 floors (seven of them underground) **, located in the district of Burj Khalifa -the impressive skyscraper 828 meters high-, is made up of two towers that together form an imposing cube with openings , highlighting a large empty space in your heart that allows natural light enters the building.

The free form of the eight-story-high hollow contrasts with the careful geometry of the rest of the architectural jewel. Secondly, the two glass structures are linked by a four-story atrium at ground level and connected in turn by an asymmetric bridge 38 meters wide and suspended 71 meters from the ground.

"The design conveys the remarkable inventiveness of the work of **Zaha Hadid Architects** (ZHA), expressing a sculptural sensibility that reinvents the balance between the solid and the empty , the opaque and the transparent, the interior and the exterior", she explained to the press Mahdi Amjad, CEO of Omniyat , the company in charge of property management.

Although we still have to wait until next year to delight ourselves with its spectacular rooms, we dare to say that the exterior of the building well deserves an award.

And not only do we say so, but it is **one of the four projects by Zaha Hadid Architects shortlisted for the 2019 World Architecture Festival ** (WAF) awards.
