Thus, the best establishment must offer a qualified staff to advise readers; a wide and diverse catalog that reflects the richness of the publishing world; a cultural space that offers activities to promote reading and a customer-oriented service that emphasizes attention and reliability.
To identify the bookstores that combined all these characteristics, both associations created in 2015 the Quality Bookstores Seal , which last year was awarded to 12 new stores. Thus, there are already almost 100 establishments throughout Spain that can boast of the title, among which are places well loved by the country's bibliophiles, such as Tipos Infames or Traficantes de Sueños, in Madrid.
To them, another one was added in 2019 in the capital, Gaztambide, although it is not the only one: the Numax and Pedreira bookstores, from Santiago de Compostela, also join this prestigious list; the La Pilarica bookstores (Valeriano Miranda and Doce de Octubre) in Mieres, Asturias; the Picasso (Reyes Católicos and Avenida de la Estación) and Picasso Cómic bookstores in Almería; the Picasso bookstores in Granada (Obispo Hurtado, San Marcelino de Champagnac and El Minero) and the Luz y Vida bookstore in Burgos.
