Can you imagine enjoying the seventh art under the starry sky of the Parisian summer? It sounds like a dream, but it can come true!

Every summer, Paris celebrates the Paris Plages event (which this year takes place from July 18 to August 30), during which artificial beaches are created on the Seine and on the Bassin de la Villette (the largest artificial lake in Paris).

The inauguration of the 2020 edition of Paris Plages will take place on July 18 with a very special event, Le Cinéma sur l'Eau, a free cinematographic projection from a boat on the Bassin de la Villette, between the quays of the Seine and the Loire.

The film chosen for the occasion has been Le Grand Bain by Gilles Lellouche and a fleet of 38 electric boats (from the local company Marin d'eau douce), 150 deckchairs on dry land and a 16x9m screen.

How to attend Le Cinéma sur l'Eau? To participate and become one of the lucky ones to enjoy the projection on the water, you must register here. The deadline is July 15!

The winners will be chosen by lottery and notified by email and must arrive at the venue one hour before the screening, which will be at 7:30 p.m.

The electric boats will be able to accommodate groups of two, four or six people s (from the same family or group of friends).

The event has as partners Häagen-Dazs, La Ville de Paris and the chain mk2, which has two cinemas on the channel.

PARIS PLAGES: SUMMER IN THE CITY OF LIGHT

Paris Plages is part of the Un été particulier program, and will take place at the Parc Rives de Seine and the Bassin de la Villette and will have a program outdoor leisure activities for all audiences and with a series of measures to guarantee the safety of visitors.

The Parc Rives de Seine “beach” will be open from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and in it you can play petanque, attend tai chi classes or simply relax on a sun lounger.

In the Bassin de la Villette, the protagonists will be water sports such as swimming and kayaking and there will be a club for the little ones with games and a library.

The Bassin de la Villette area will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Regarding the measures to practice swimming, this It will be possible to practice from 11 in the morning to 8:30 in the afternoon in rotations of 2 hours.

Between each rotation, there will be a systematic cleaning and disinfection of the spaces (changing rooms, bathrooms, pool area, solarium, etc.). Likewise, physical distance must be respected and a mask must be worn in the changing rooms.

They will also be made regular bathing water quality checks under the supervision of the Regional Health Agency.
