**Enric Adrian Gener (or 27MM) ** defines himself as a lover of the sea who takes photos. years ago he quit his job as an animator in Madrid and began to work remotely. “That allowed me to dedicate some time to my profession and another to the sea, and as a pianist friend says: it is better to play 10 minutes a day than two hours a week ”, Gener tells Condé Nast Traveler.

90% of my photography is done in apnea and without flash , only with a mask, a tube and the camera”, explains Gener who now works as a freelance photographer. To capture the right light, he does not descend more than ten meters but he is not obsessed with perfection either, he is not interested: “I just like to reflect what I enjoy doing and I capture the places where I am; If I didn't have a camera, I would have a very similar lifestyle. , but there would not be a graphic document”, he comments.

When he travels, he almost always has a salty pretext . So far it has been carried away by the Sea of Cortez, the Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, Tasman Sea ...and the list goes on. Many of his images are in Menorca, what attracts you to the Mediterranean? “ The purity of the water: in few places in the world can you find such transparent water ; but it must also be said that in a few you will see water with so little life, we are not taking care of it and I am afraid that there is no turning back”, he comments.

He sadly sees a lot of contamination in his work, “ more and more, especially plastics ”, he laments. “Just thinking that plastic, as we know and use it today, is just over fifty years old, it is to worry us enormously ; if the ocean is like this now, I don't even want to think how it will be in another fifty, when, every day, we use plastic exponentially”, warns the photographer.

Of course, diving with sharks or large pelagics always offers fun situations. “For example, your partner is looking at you, and a shark or a giant manta is approaching from behind him, and you look at the scene in the distance and try to warn him when he already has the little animal two meters from his face , those reactions are to laugh a good time, ”he recalls smiling.

He is inspired by the images of photographers specializing in aquatic environments such as Mark Tipple , David Doubilet , sarah lee Y Morgan Massen . We propose a route through his photographs with his favorite music to travel by car, on the way to the beach, with the windows open: brave pony .
