the road ahead. That is always a great plan. In any summer. And in the movies. The roads have given us great movies. In these finite or infinite routes anything can happen. No matter the means of transport, the company does matter, of course, but sometimes the best is the most unexpected.
In these road trips that we have selected, you will find inspiration for a future trip. And we have not stuck to the asphalt road. The trip can start by car and end by train, plane... or on foot. Or vice versa.
Little two on the road.
EASY RIDER (1969)
From Los Angeles to New Orleans. That's the plan Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper). Getting to Mardi Gras, traversing all the southwestern and southern states with two choppers which are motorcycling history. A trip that is more than just a trip, it is a symbol of the counterculture, the hippie spirit and the most absolute freedom.
The real 'van life'.
NOMADLAND (2020)
The Badlands of South Dakota, the Wall Drug road that has been there since 1931, black rock desert in Nevada, where the nomads gather; Yuma and Quartzsite in Arizona, Point Arena in Mendocino, California. Four states, incredible locations and a single life journey, the one that makes Fern (Frances McDormand) when she is left without a husband, without a house, without a job. Just a van, her van in which she loads useful things and souvenirs. The road movies definitive.

AND YOUR MOM TOO (2001)
One of those road trips that mark your life forever. That happened to Tenoch and Julio, but also to the two actors who played them: Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal. Like in the movie, two great friends. There he started his international career, also took off even more that of Maribel Verdu, that she was the third in that sexual awakening car directed by Alfonso Cuarón. A route that, in addition, exposed and explained Mexico from its capital to Cacaluta, a virgin beach in Oaxaca.

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE (2006)
From Albuquerque (New Mexico) to Redondo Beach (California). The Hoover family gets into an old Volskwagen and heads to fulfill the dream of the youngest: Olive (Abigail Breslin). Inside her are her mother (Toni Collette) the father (Greg Kinnear); the brother (Paul Dano), a troubled teenager; uncle frank (Steve Carell) a homosexual with depression; and grandpa (Alan Arkkin).

THELMA & LOUISE (1991)
Nothing says freedom like these two women. Thelma (Geena Davis) and Louise (Susan Sarandon), two friends escaping their lives riding a ford thunderbird , walking through the hot and sweaty Arizona and Arkansas. They didn't mean for the trip to end like this, but there was no other way out.

THE MOTORCYCLE DIARIES (2004)
Inspired by the journey of Che Guevara and Alberto Granado via Latin America, in 1952. Gael Garcia Bernal plays the first, and Rodrigo de la Serna, to the second. Almost as in reality, they traveled 14,000 km, for Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia and Venezuela, a shoot that lasted eight months. And that it took an Oscar, but to the original song of George Drexler.

JOURNEY TO DARJEELING (2007)
Three brothers (Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzmann and Adrien Brody) trying to reconcile in the best country to achieve it. Color, spirituality and landscapes. The plan was to travel it by train, the Darjeeling Limited, but when they kick them out, with their exquisite designer suitcases, They should carry on as best they can. IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (1934)
From Florida to New York. An unexpected company: a millionaire heiress (Claudette Colbert) running away in search of her fiancé and an opportunistic journalist (Clark Gables), they have to move even hitchhiking. A classic romantic road comedy. Frank Capra in command, of course.

BETWEEN GLASSES (2004)
If there is a road trip that has inspired travelers in the last two decades, it has been this one. Many have to thank alexander payne Napa and county wines Santa Ynez. Without these four fellow travelers, perhaps it would not have become so fashionable. Here the stops were more important than the road, yes.
