A MUSIC BOX: THE ORIGIN OF EVERYTHING
Wilhelm and Kathe Wohlfahrt , founding couple of the company, wanted to give a music box just like his to a family of American friends who had been fascinated by it at Christmas 1963.
However, when Wilhelm went looking for another copy after Christmas, It was very difficult for him to find one. because all the stores had already stocked the products related to Christmas. In the end, he found her in a wholesale store that it was only sold if he acquired a minimum of ten copies.
Wilhelm Wohlfahrt gave the box to his American friends and went from house to house selling the other nine. until the police stopped him since door-to-door sales were not allowed.
But the magic of Christmas made its appearance and the policemen were also fascinated by the boxes, so Wilhelm was recommended to sell them to the wives of American officers at charity bazaars.
Thus, Wilhelm and Kathe They went from bazaar to bazaar until in 1964 they decided to found their own company in Stuttgart. In 1990, his son Harald took over the reins of Käthe Wohlfahrt continuing the family business.

A WORKSHOP OF DREAMS
Käthe Wohlfahrt's craft workshop is located in the German city of Rothenburg and its interior is a real fantasy factory where artists and artisans work designing the exclusive products of the firm.
Your inspiration? The traditional toy store and nature. The pieces that leave the workshop are the result of a laborious job in which the quality of the materials (wood, glass, tin) as well as the delicate hand painting and the care of every detail stand out.
In addition to the objects made in the workshop, in the Käthe Wohlfahrt shops we can also find Kindertraum signature figures in limited editions and with certificate, that will drive collectors crazy.
