The Madison Research study for Cerveceros de España conducted in July 2017 among 2,000 people aged 18 to 65 has the answer. How is our ideal summer?
More than 60% of Spaniards cannot conceive of summer without three things, which are: beer, tapas and beach. Surprise!
Six out of ten Spaniards consider that beer is the drink that represents your ideal summer , in its cane formats, clear or without alcohol. They are followed in order of preference by juices and horchata. by landslide is men's favorite drink (68%) , and women (60%) , and in all ages; 54% of respondents under 30 years of age, 60% of Spaniards under 45, and 70% of those over 45 years of age.
The beer is so good!
According to this study, the summer is the best time of year for beer because that is when it is consumed the most. Between the months of July and September in Spain, it is consumed 30% of beer throughout the year , approximately 1.2 million liters.
The hours of light, exposure to the sun and summer gastronomy make it one of the star foods of summer.
Summer always soaking.
Beer always goes with a companion, we already know that. We Spaniards accompany her with the other star of the summer: the lid (43%) . So in our summer there is no lack of blessed potato omelette tapas , bravas, salad and, of course, croquettes. We also choose to accompany it, paella, a good barbecue, fried fish , octopus and ham.
“Beer is a deeply rooted product with a typical pattern of the mediterranean culture , based on the social relationship, the moderate consumption, responsible and accompanied by food . We know that the ideal summer of the Spanish is based on meeting with their closest environment to have some beers on the beach or in the mountains”, says Jacobo Olalla Marañón, CEO of Cerveceros de España.
A CALL FROM THE BOSS...
And what can spoil a vacation? More than 80% of Spaniards consider that the bad weather, the boss's call and a hot beer It can spoil your summer. And finally, we go into a state of shock when the cell phone breaks , 9% say so.
And the best? What are the moments in which we touch the summer nirvana the Spaniards? Madison Market Research for Cerveceros de España point out that the best moments for Spanish people in summer are the following.
40% indicate that the best moment occurs when he is at the beach bar , while other highlights are to be in the mountains or the countryside (17.6%) , “in the pool at my house” (13.5%) , on the terrace of a bar (12%) and in a Music festival (10%), this last option highly commented on by young people under 30 years of age.
As for the music, which sounds in our summer, we Spaniards prefer pop (22%), rock (19%) and, as a last option, the summer song (14%) . The women opt more for pop and the song of summer , Y men prefer to accompany the hot months with rock.
The beach and being soaked are above good and evil.
ALWAYS SOAK
We Spaniards love being soaked, 66% of respondents identify their ideal summer at the beach or pool , ahead of the field or the mountains, the city or the village. Above all, women prefer it.
Y with whom we travel or spend our holidays ? 59% do it as a couple, 55% with family and 39% with friends. Women mention the company of the family to a greater extent than men, and furthermore, the family relationship is increasingly preferred with age.
