BUY ART AT THE HIPPIE MARKET IN LA MOLA
If you go to the hippie market in Pilar de la Mola (only on Sundays) buy art . There, Elena Montesinos, an artist from Gandía who has been living on the island for seven years, has a little stall that makes you dream of the waters of the Mediterranean and that you can take home so that they are always with you. Her canvases, most of them painted as an overhead shot, are samples of everyday bathroom scenes and nonchalance.
The different shades of blue and turquoise are only broken by the lucky swimmers that swim freely or rest on the shore. If you ask her which are the beaches in her paintings, she will tell you that she doesn't know exactly, that are the beaches of your imagination . So if you keep them they will also be yours.
A TOUR OF THE ISLAND BY BOAT
'What if we go around the island by boat?' Was the proposal of Richi Arambarri , CEO of the Riojan wine company Vintae and one of the founders of Fandango, the new trendy beach bar in Es Pujols , while we had dinner precisely there. Arambarri, a regular on the island for more than 15 years, took us through Cala Saona, through the waters of Migjorn beach and for a paradisiacal corner next to Caló d'es Mort.
He writes this down: tortilla skewer at Ceferino for breakfast.
we end up giving a bath between S'Espalmador and Formentera in an area where the water only covers up to half of the body, as if it were a private pool. Go under the Barbaria Lighthouse , navigate the steep corners of the island, a good sandwich, cool wines and swimming in the turquoise waters sounds so good how it ends up: a great plan.
HAVE AN OMELETTE PINCHO FOR BREAKFAST IN CEFERINO (SANT FRANCESC)
Start the day strong with a tortilla skewer at Ceferino. They tipped us off and it was impossible to resist: the morning excursion fell to Sant Francesc Xavier, a small town in the interior of the island , only for breakfast. The place, full of craft stalls, decoration shops, cafeterias and that air of a summer town, acts as a wonderful setting for you to be served a good piece of tortilla, a coffee with milk and an orange juice freshly squeezed at 9.30 in the morning.
Ceferino opened in 2019 and serves traditional Balearic food, lots of tapas and good vibes . It's worth the trip to take it easy. Of course, then take a walk through Sant Francesc before going down to the beach, you will need it.

FOR THE WEATHER IN CALÓ DE SANT AGUSTÍ
Grab a book and go straight to Can Rafalet in Caló de Sant Agustí . Before reaching the beach, right in the area of the pier, you will find the restaurant, which is also a hostel, and which has privileged views and an unusual tranquility. They open from noon uninterrupted until night and its sofas in the lower area of the terrace ensure direct views of the sea and the horizon.
If you feel unhurried, it will become the corner you were looking for to spend a quiet afternoon having a drink, with your legs stretched out and enjoying the silence. The children playing on the shore, some walkers, the boats in the distance and the sun that has already stopped burning will make you feel like in your summer house.
LIVE THE SUNSET AT KIOSKO 62
And from the tranquility to the island racket in less than 10 minutes by car (or motorcycle). Crossing a stretch of road but just on the other side is Migjorn beach . There the beach bars accumulate and each one occupies its own territory, but there is one in particular that welcomes you with a blackboard with the following written: “Here begins the Formentera that resists”.
It's Kiosk 62 , a beach bar where everyone goes barefoot, and is full of groups of friends, families and friendly dogs. Our recommendation? Live a sunset with them even if you don't see the sun go down over the sea. You will want to stay because it seems that nothing bad can happen there and the only thing that matters that you wear is the smile.
