Whether by car, by train or even by plane! We love to travel with our pets: enjoy the fresh air, run along the beach, play in the field...
Beyond camping and glamping, there are many accommodations where our best friends are welcome and airlines are becoming more petfriendly.
However, it is not always possible for our best and most faithful friends to accompany us. We found the solution in the neighboring country, specifically in the Hotel Canine & Feline, an accommodation that not only allows dogs and cats, but is designed exclusively for them!
The architect Raulino Silva has projected this amazing hotel in an area of 797 square meters in the north of Portugal , where your pet can enjoy a few days of vacation in the best hands.

**LIKE DOGS AND CATS **
The Hotel Canine & Feline is located in Parada, a Portuguese parish in the council of Vila do Conde, in the district of Porto.
It is a temporary accommodation for dogs and cats where you can take your pet during the time that those pleasure or work trips last for those who cannot accompany you.
Canine & Feline is built on an old vineyard and distributed in three interconnected buildings, which allows the creation of three different areas.
In this way, you get separate the cat zone from the dog zone, avoiding the meeting of both and reducing the noise of the animals.
Also, it has veterinary office, grooming room, outdoor training areas and pet pool.
An oasis for dogs and cats, with great detail!
LUXURY ACCOMMODATION FOR LUXURY GUESTS
“The three volumes were designed to reduce the impact of the construction area in order to improve its integration into the landscape” , they explain from the study of the architect Raulino Silva.
The first volume, on one level, corresponds to the reception and support area and has a service desk, a small shop, a storage room, sanitary facilities, an office, a veterinary clinic and a grooming room.
The best place to leave your pet when it cannot accompany you on a trip
The second volume is the largest and takes advantage of the existing topography to create two floors, functioning as a link between the highest part of the land (the entrance area) and the lower part (the animal playground).
Above we found 41 shelters for dogs separated by the central corridor with a small garden that obstructs the visual contact of the animals facing each other.
On the ground floor, with access via spiral stairs, there are a multipurpose space, a technical room, a laundry, a changing room and a bathroom for employees.
Finally, the third volume is the shelter for cats and has 12 independent accommodation spaces, with a central circulation space around an interior garden illuminated by a large skylight that serves as a play area for the felines.
Because they deserve the best!
THE BEST FINISHES
The exterior walls and ceilings of Canine & Feline are lined with light gray external thermal insulation systems (ETICS).
For its part, on the balconies and in the visitor parking area, dark gray concrete floor and on the access route to the basement (loading and unloading services), granite from the region.

As for the interiors, the floor of all the spaces is continuous and waterproof. A single light gray microcement coating is used on the walls of the bathrooms, in the changing rooms, on the stairs and in the interior garden of the building intended for dogs.
Outside, the granite stone walls were cleaned and preserved, keeping the same construction method. To secure the fence nets of the canine training fields are used granite posts that were already in the ground and used in the old vineyard.
The only downside we found to this incredible hotel: Will our pet want to come home?
