The protagonist of this story is called Maria Gonzalez , a young woman from Lanzarote who, after studying Advertising and Public Relations in Madrid, He packed his bags to settle in New York. But we know that on many occasions life has other plans for us... And María had to return to ** Lanzarote ** to be with her family.
“From one day to the next your world turns upside down and what used to be so significant suddenly not so much . Returning to Lanzarote was not easy; It was clear to me that being by my family's side was the most important thing, but it meant starting from scratch and say goodbye to all those dreams that were beginning to take shape ”, indicates María to Traveler.es.
But there was room for new dreams and four years ago, something began to blossom inside her: ** to create a project like Alava Suites. ** “Since then I have been shaping it, polishing concepts and analyzing markets . Over time, the proposal grew stronger and, somewhat by chance, an opportunity arose when I found the perfect place. The enclave had potential and for me it was a crush ”, she tells.
Comfort and organic is everything
Finally, on October 23, 2019, Alava Suites opened its doors in Costa Teguise , a small coastal town on the eastern part of the island. And how did he make it possible? With much affection, professionalism and human value.
A HOTEL THAT IS A DECLARATION OF LOVE
“I wanted to create an accommodation that transmit privacy and tranquility and at the same time offer services that generate a unique experience , attentive, detailed and personalized. I wanted to appeal to the emotions, to be more than just a lodging ”, says the owner.
The idea arises from a feeling inherited from her parents: make all the guests who come to your home feel at home . “I remember that every time we received a visit they launched a elaborate welcome ritual , where they pampered every detail and made sure that everything was perfect. Without noticing, that need to create an unforgettable experience became mine ”.
The choice of the name was a challenge for Maria. She in the end she got in touch with the creative Jose Manuel Nicholas , and after telling him everything she wanted to convey with the project, he was the one who gave shape and name to this place: “Alava is a play on words: it comes from my maternal surname Álava and contains 'wash' , which is the origin of Lanzarote”.
