More than 100,000 visitors are expected at the 10th edition of the White Summer Festival which is celebrated in the fields of the farm More Gelabert ( Pals ) from August 5 to 28. A festival that is celebrating its anniversary and that year after year has garnered fame for being one of the reference events during the summer on the Costa Brava.
What was born as a small market for friends and family has become a great event that brings together music, gastronomy, fashion, art and lots of fun. This White Summer 2022 edition is also a turning point. The 10th anniversary consolidates a new direction with Ariadna Barthe at the helm -following in the footsteps of her mother and founder Miryam Cuatrecasas- and a new way of conceptualizing this unique experience in format and content.
“Miryam, the founder of White Summer, is in love with the performing arts. She decided to start attending theater festivals and fairs at a European level. and bring the artists I was discovering to White Summer. In a few years, it became the ideal place to discover and enjoy a summer afternoon with the family , and from there the opportunity to offer workshops and activities for the little ones”, explains Ariadna to Traveler.es.
Art is part of the essential of the festival.
The edition that celebrates its 10 years will bring a lot of celebration, as its director will assure. “This year we have opted for 100% quality. The selection of gastronomic projects is being done by All Those, with more than 20 very good restaurateurs, it was forgotten in one of the most frequented open-air restaurants of the entire summer. Cuisine, Peruvian, African, Mexican, Japanese and, of course, Mediterranean”.
Avoiding crowds is another of this year's goals. "We plan some 3,500 people on average . On Saturdays we can reach 4,500 people capacity. The intention is not to be a massive festival, in White Summer we have received 8,000 people a day and we know what it is, we are not interested. We believe that to achieve the level of quality that we aspire to, we have to control the capacity as much as possible, so that everyone is comfortable and there is space for everyone”.
There will be enough space to spend a day with friends and family.
THE 2022 EDITION
What does this anniversary bring to the festival? In the musical field there will be three stages, three experiences and live music daily. Great artists such as Amaia, Amadou & Mariam, Sen Senra, Los Manolos, Ramon Mirabet, among others, as well as El Pot Petit and Dàmaris Gelabert, will perform on the White Summer stage for family audiences. The Stars of Tomorrow by Momentos Alhambra stage will be the perfect place to discover new music. The DJs will have their own space in the Soundwave Paradise by Catalana Occidente.
The gastronomic part has a lot of weight in the festival this year in charge of ALL THOSE , which will work uninterrupted from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
Confirmed for this year Artisans of Foc with its artisan pizzas, Yon Wang Xef i Cuina and its Asian cuisine, Joy Bar , with succulent dishes, Goosebumps with its characteristic fried chicken, and omu japan , a project that offers traditional Japanese gastronomy with a specialty in onigiris. There is also room for food trucks: fish and seafood are the stars of the octopus, Mexican gastronomy will be assured with Cal Pastor Foodtruck , Argentina -with Mediterranean touches of Pampa Region Food Truck, the burgers of Laufer Street Food ; in addition to the gluten-free options of ByeByeBlat and M2 Gluten Free.
For the sweet, it has Sant Croi Gelats by pastrychef albert rock , whose 100% artisan gourmet ice creams made with local products have earned it the award for Best Artisan Ice Cream Shop in Spain 2022. There will also be room for crepes and galettes from MarÍa a crepe and La Creperie de Mariöne.
To taste the dishes calmly, you can choose between different spaces distributed throughout the premises, being the Family Feast the benchmark for families and friends who want to sit in a group at large tables.

ART, FASHION AND FAMILIES
What would a market be without fashion? In this edition, the festival will have 180 brands and projects with soul . Bohodot, Sweet Dreams or Bloomers swimwear will be there; Olivia Barthe's jewelry and jewelry, Poppins or Chips; the fashion of No Ni Ná, Paez, Futah, Lua or Pitagora; cosmetics from Tanaka Cosmetics and Brudy Cosmetics; accessories such as Bottari Seoul with its bags or Hammels and its sunglasses, Playmobil or Baby Bites for children, among many others.
Likewise, White Summer continues to bet heavily on art, which is why there will be performances, artistic installations, dance, magic, clowning, acrobatics to live and feel summer.

In the Wonder Park there will be inflatables with yellow humor and more attractions to expend energy and let off steam to the rhythm of live music.
The space will also have a special area certified by Mammaproof , designed to cover all the basic needs that families who come with babies may have: space to park strollers, baby changing tables, high chairs for eating, breastfeeding chairs and microwaves to heat bottles and food, among others.
