1930 Boutique Hotel

1930 Boutique Hotel is everything we want to finish the Camino de Santiago.

We arrived at 1930 Boutique Hotel and were blown away before his restored Indiana home built at the beginning of the last century, to which life has been restored without losing the essence of its time. We discover how its interior and exterior spaces integrate naturally with its centenary trees located in its garden , preserving the original structure of this house in an unpolluted way.

Entering its interior is a trip to past times in which its colonial air is preserved intact while a Provencal and Indian style is fused with art deco. Here you can breathe history loaded with contemporary touches that make it one of those places that we only usually see in design magazines.

Yes, because this hotel is cared for to such an extent that each space looks like a real set for an Indian movie. could not miss a large palm tree at the entrance of the house , symbol of the adventure of Galician emigrants in tropical lands . Here begins our own movie, which we will surely not forget!

The palm trees at the entrance are a symbol of the adventure of Galician emigrants in tropical lands.

In the hall, it smells of fresh flowers that dress every corner of the room with their colors, vegetation wallpapers that plunge us into the very jungle , exotic lamps and infinite mirrors for each of its spaces. Geometric floors, ethnic rugs and an indescribable light which reminds us that crushes at first sight do exist.

The hotel is run by several members of a family and that is why it smells like home and you can feel that this accommodation is a dream come true. He welcomes us very kindly Adrián Varela, one of its owners : “We opened our doors in February, just before the pandemic, with the clear idea that here we want to offer excellence in everything, but above all in the treatment. We work every day on this project to continue growing and for it to become a regional and regional reference, which is why we take care of every detail to the millimeter. Our clients live a 360º experience , not only comfort, but we facilitate everything that is within our reach.”

The first thing we want to do? Meet our room! They have 14 rooms distributed over 5 floors, 5 Deluxe Suite and 9 Standard Suite. , and each one has a different name, or places, people or trades. They are set in destinations around the world where their owners have traveled and to which they remain attached. That's why we discover rooms with names like Havana, Koh Samui, El Balcón, the Triana Bridge… Everything has an explanation and it is very curious to discover the history of each of them.

We chose a Deluxe Suite in which each of the pieces that decorate the rooms have a meaning and are related to the name and design. The headboards, the walls, the lamps and even the taps! Always with a touch of renewed classicism that surrounds us in an atmosphere that makes us feel special.

If you are doing the Camino, I recommend you book 2 nights here because the hotel has with service transfer who can pick us up and take us to the starting point the next day and thus save us from doing another check in on the last stage, and most importantly, We have one more night to sleep in the clouds!

The hotel even helps you draw up the entire Camino plan for those who only want to do the last stages. So, in those few days you do not need to change your accommodation, or carry your backpack , and they take care of organizing everything for you. In this way, afternoons are transformed into rest, meals into gastronomic experiences and walk the Camino, the best (and most comfortable) getaway you can imagine.

The garden is another of its jewels. The perfect place to rest and lie down in one of its hammocks or even read a good book surrounded by centennial palm trees, camellias, chestnut trees and multiple fruit trees that provide the natural and historical touch that makes us get into an authentic time machine straight to the past.

Under the gaze of the palm trees and the ivy that run along the southern façade of the hotel, one finds your greenhouse , which transports us to those 1930s colonial galleries . A place to meet and enjoy life again.

A garden and a greenhouse in which we would spend whole days.

we sat in your restaurant , open to lovers of more personal gastronomy, focused on a local fresh product in which the raw material is taken care of. The kitchen is directed by chef Nelssy Soriano and even if you are not staying, you can also enjoy this varied menu.

It changes with daily proposals from the chef , which she tells us that "cooking is an art and requires instinct, in addition to knowing the tastes of our customers, to whom we always try to recommend the dishes that will most impress them." Of course she also has a letter from regional, national and international wines . And some homemade and very abundant breakfasts. This is the space to stick a great food festival!

after finishing dinner we approach the square of 1930 inside the hotel and we order a cocktail to merge our relaxation with the great atmosphere that is breathed in this square, considered as the heart of the hotel and the meeting point for travelers from all over the world.

TO DO

Although we have come to enjoy our destination, which is the hotel, you cannot miss the route to the Fervenza das Hortas, a beautiful waterfall about 30 meters high with a waterfall mixed with quartzite. The complete route is almost 20 kilometers long, of medium difficulty and takes about 4 hours. A route to get carried away by its legends, while you discover some of its abandoned mills.

Nature lovers will love the surroundings because this region is full of farm fields and meadows where the cows roam freely where you can take a quiet walk. These cows are responsible for producing excellent quality milk that is used to produce the precious Queixo de Arzúa or Tetilla Cheese.

In Queixeria Barral , contacting them beforehand, you can witness the entire manufacturing process in addition to being able to buy directly from the factory. And of course, if you are not doing the Camino, you cannot miss a visit to Santiago de Compostela, just 20 minutes away by car.

In 1930 Boutique Hotel magical things always happen because its corners are witness to reunions of travellers, emotions, celebrations, special moments and even weddings. What magical things? The best thing is that you discover them for yourself letting yourself be carried away by your traveling soul. Good way!
