Updated to: 4/12/2022. Close your eyes and imagine for a moment that you could design the hotel of your dreams . It is a mix of what you like with everything you miss when you travel. Open the. "Could you be in Ibiza, Tulum, Morocco or one Greek island but... this is Javea”.

What they dreamed of years ago Monica (Dienense) and Dieter (Belgian) is now a reality facing the Mediterranean: NOMAD Hotel (Javea).

“Our professional career has made us travel to many countries… and sleep in many hotels . Dieter, as a consultant for an American multinational (straddling Doha – Qatar – and Dubai) and I living in the emirate city, in charge of the expansion of international hotel groups in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We enjoyed our work very much, but the pace of life we led, taking an average of 4 weekly flights for 15 years , it was not very compatible or sustainable in the long term. The process was sped up when we had our son Mateo who is almost 7 years old now.

His first step was buy a house in Javea , “to have a base of operations close to our family and reconnect with our roots. And we thought that the only way to truly return to Spain was creating our own opportunities to change the lifestyle we aspired to yes”.

This is how The Beach House was first born, “a slow life inspired concept , which we managed remotely. We started by renovating a small 3-storey building on the harbor front and transformed it into charming studios. Then we converted the port building located on the jetty into Ground-floor bistro restaurant and rooftop drinking terrace . And, after these first two projects, the good response from our customers and the shortage of charming accommodation in Jávea , gave us the confidence and drive to embark on our dream for almost a decade: create a hotel concept that captured the essence of everything we liked, with a purpose that went beyond offering accommodation in unique locations and very charming. We left our jobs, invested all our savings in Jávea and moved to another country to dedicate ourselves 100% to this adventure a year ago”. And here has begun his true life journey: NOMAD Hotel Collection , “which arose as a necessity and as a personal dream”.

Its 14 rooms have 4 different styles (6 of them are perfect for traveling families or friends traveling together, since they have 2 rooms within the same unit and share common areas).

They are exotic but welcoming, with views of the sea and a special energy because they have been designed following the principles of feng shui to promote rest, harmony and balance: Batonga is inspired by the tribe of Zimbabwe that makes basketry using this artisanal technique and is decorated with original baskets, lamps and furniture from the African country; gypsum fuses hippie nonconformity and the bohemian spirit with the sophistication of jet set ; in nomadic the style breathes Barefoot Luxury (barefoot luxury) and represents the spirit of the brand: authenticity, eclecticism and simplicity with a natural design Y earth it is organic, it transmits serenity and calm thanks to its refined and enveloping lines.

Although, from the point of view of construction and sustainable design, they all have in common the naturalness of the materials used in construction, such as adobe, recovered wooden beams, the subtle use of clay tiles, wooden lattices, hand-carved stone sinks or natural fibers (of seaweed, for example) in bed headboards and dressing room doors, which are elements used in countries of the Levante Mediterranean such as Jordan, Lebanon, on the Arabian Peninsula (old part of Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Oman), Greece, Morocco or Mexico and in our area, especially in the Balearic Islands.

we continue the journey : the decoration comes from Africa, Asia, Scandinavian countries and the Middle East . “We work with small family businesses and in some countries we have collaborations with cooperatives that empower certain communities and tribes that create part of the NOMAD craft items and which can be purchased at travel-gallery , an exquisite selection of handmade treasures and hotel furnishings”.

Yes, you can take the NOMAD universe home with you, and if you fall in love with any piece of decoration or furniture that is not in the traveling gallery, ask them, because thanks to NOMAD Living you can order it … and even go a step further: with its line NOMAD Homes you can build a house with its nomadic essence, which is a reflection of the places where they have lived and the countries they like the most.

“We have also been inspired by the creations of other designers that we admire: we are fascinated by the purity and fascinating poetry of Axel Vervoordt's creations and the character of the spaces re-created by Ilse Crawford . But also the know-how of anonymous artisans, to whom we have somehow wanted to give a voice in this project, combining some works by Valencian artists with a selection of others of Scandinavian and French design, as well as some specific pieces by the Lebanese. Nada Debbs and Francis Nayef”.

THE NOMAD UNIVERSE

His hallmarks say it all: his vindication is "Just Be. Stay Nomad” and his logo, the ravenala or traveler's tree, which is characterized by the power it has to accumulate up to half a liter of water at the base of its leaves, which was used to quench the thirst of travelers in the past. Also symbolizes recollection and protection.

Here, the preconceived and conventional ideas of the traditional hotel sector have no place: “on the one hand, we want to create a connection between the hotel and its surroundings, not only from a construction and design point of view. We do not sell beds, but we offer experiences and emotions . If the kitchen is the soul of the house, hotels are the heart of towns and cities, they are meeting and exchange points. For this purpose, we have created several concepts of our own that invite you to be, to be and to enjoy not only of our space but to integrate it with the intrinsic wealth that Jávea offers”.
