The Quiet Man reopens in Barcelona.

For a time The Quiet Man , opened by Seamus Farrel in 1994, was the epicenter of Irish culture in Barcelona.** This Irish pub in the Raval neighborhood was frequented by students and lovers of good beer and good conversation**. There was live music, board games, and above all, a good atmosphere. Over time it also became a cocktail bar and was renamed ** Shenanigan's **, but it finally closed its doors.

After the pandemic, the original place is coming to life thanks to two beer lovers. “Martí Sastre and I, Jordi Mora, had long wanted to associate and were looking for a place in the city of Barcelona. Our preference was an Irish Pub, which is a type of business that we love and have experience with. Martí went to visit some that, unfortunately, had closed permanently as a result of the pandemic. Shenanigan's (the last name of the place) was one of them, and we fell in love with him ”, he explains to Traveler.es.

They realized that the interior was totally original. The place was covered in lots of wood and oozed character . “The location is ideal, next to the Ramblas, and its history was also in its favour:** it is the oldest Irish Pub in Barcelona!** So we got down to work, yes, totally convinced that we had to recover its initial name The Quiet Man ”, he adds.

The essence will be very similar to Seamus Farrell's initial. “The bar, the platform, much of the furniture was brought directly from Ireland in a container. We maintain all that and recover the old decoration that we have been able to recover. It will once again be a reference brewery in the city and we will promote Irish culture”, they admit.

As for the beer, you can find the same ones that you would find in an Irish Pub. Guinness and Murphy's on tap of course . However, they will try to have a large assortment of craft beer on tap and bottle to reach all lovers of craft beer. The gastronomy will also be focused on Ireland and its customs, although they assure that with its own style.

The opening will be in mid-June. , but they admit that they will have to adapt to the restrictions, so it will be necessary to hope that this Irish pub recovers its essence little by little.
