Do you remember when we used to plans ? Sounds amazing right now, right? It seems like an eternity away from that time in which our lives were juggling to fit so many into the agenda. An appointment, a dinner or a concert monopolized our calendars, illuminating an important date that we anxiously awaited days and even months in advance. But there was a very special one, the one that was repeated year after year and that was our gasoline to, after an arduous year, have our summer reward: the festivals.
This 2021 we run out of them again, again it's time to miss them and yearn for them even more. But they will return , and that is the joy for which we will wait patiently.
If there is something better than eating and drinking, it is being able to do it with live music.
Even so, no one takes away what we danced. And boy, have we danced in those adventures that began by clicking the purchase button when the precious tickets finally went on sale, which, for several days, would be our passport to see our musical obsessions on stage ready to create some of the best memories of our lives.
Of our lives, indeed. Because a festival is forever . Who does not remember their first festival? The first song you did a pogo with? The one you heard from the hand of his summer love? Or the one she sang at the top of her lungs? And that moment of youth in which a campsite sounded like pure glory? What times those in which the thermometer exceeded 40 ° C and even that was not an impediment to put on our best clothes, stand in eternal queues to get our access bracelets and travel long distances to arrive on time for a tight musical schedule that little margin left to improvisation.

That during our youth, because, as we have grown older, we have seen how the festivals have evolved alongside us, perfecting logistics, organization and headliners. And with age, like good festivalgoers , we have also learned to better manage our energy and sleep , changing the night weather to sleep in designer beds, abandoning supermarket cold cuts for breakfast in the room and allowing us to rest and enjoy the comforts of the chosen destiny.

Thus, Barcelona has always known how to receive us between vermouths waiting for the opening of doors of appointments such as the Sónar or Primavera Sound ; while Benicassim He gilded our skin during the day at the beach bar to then warm up the engines of his emblematic festival; indie and pop sos in Murcia, drum & bass and techno in the desert of monegros , the bbk in Bilbao, Starlit in Marbella... all the festivals we have ever been to (or wanted to go to) are as different and varied in settings and locations as their venues, audiences and musical tastes, but they all have something in common: they make us travel to new experiences in which living and sharing music is the only thing that matters.
The emotion those minutes before the artist goes on stage
Because a festival is never experienced alone, no. A festival must be celebrated with those friends to those who, with just one look, you know how to tell that the great song . Those who when you lose them among the tumult of fans know that they will always find you on the same side of the stage where you usually make yourself strong. It is not necessary to ask the classic “where are you?” on WhatsApp, you always follow the same coordinates. Those friends and allies are the same ones with whom you wake up the next day, laughing (and yes, the occasional hangover, we accept it) to break down the previous day's concert point by point. What if it sounded bad, what if "buah, how do they win live"... there are hours that you could spend talking about the previous day with them so that, when night comes, start over and live it all again.

What difference does it make if our hearts were broken at a music festival? Or that it is the place where the typical character is never lacking who, more than for the music, is going to practice posture , where our souls sink to the ground when our idol doesn't measure up or where it's easy to fall into deep sadness for not crossing a huge venue in time to get to that song.
We know, they are not a utopia, but what difference does it make when there is music involved? What does it matter when the culture makes us jump, sing and hug with those who share the same passions as us? Festivals: we miss you, but we promise that, as soon as you come back, we will hug us with even more desire.
