A lake with three islands in the middle of a natural park make up the enclave of Wakana
A gigantic lake with three islands makes up the territory of Wakana, "a magical space of energy in which art, nature, the encounter with yourself, spirituality, music and a culture of well-being converge," according to those responsible. In the ecosystem of this glamping located in the Alcornocales Natural Park (Cádiz) - we will have as adventure companions the entire catalog of endemic fauna of the area: eagle owls, eagles, vultures, wolves, deer, deer, otters, wild boars, genets... "My mother found the land by chance," Julia Catalán, who founded Wakana in 2016, tells Traveler. THREE DIFFERENT ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS
In Wakana, where you can go with your pet , you have the option to sleep in Mongolian yurts, in tipis and in a restored traditional farmhouse . In the first case, they are round tents covered with skins or felt and used as housing by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. "Their traditional decoration, with different and bright colors, it represents the five elements of nature (fire, water, earth, metal and wood), considered as the immutable foundations of the cosmos", they explain from the accommodation. "These patterns are commonly used in homes to bring its inhabitants strength and offer them protection".
Each yurt has capacity for six people in single beds , bathroom with shower, picnic table, electricity outlet, private area and lake views. In addition, it includes one hour of kayaking per person, as well as free bike rental within the complex - where you can also practice activities such as paddle surfing, zip line, windsurfing, kitesurfing, archery, horseback riding or boating ...). Breakfast is also included.
Inside one of the yurts
There is also the option to rest in a tipi, "a cone-shaped tent, traditionally made of animal skins, mounted on wooden poles, used by the indigenous people of the Great Plains and the Canadian prairies of North America", they explain from Wakana. Those offered by the accommodation are hand-decorated with totemic figures and authentic patterns of indigenous tribes . Each one has an annex module equipped with outdoor showers and bathrooms, as well as with capacity for six people in double beds.
Finally, it is possible to live the Wakana experience -which, by the way, means "sacred" in the language of the Sioux Indians- in a Restored traditional farmhouse with capacity for 30 people equipped with organic garden and chicken coop. The stay includes breakfast, and the minimum number of people that can stay is 12.
