When the space of the modernist Casa Gallardo, which is now occupied by Leclab.Madrid, became free, Luisa Orlando, its creator, had it clear: there she would found her exclusive private club (which is already revolutionizing Madrid nights).

“I didn't hesitate. I fell in love with him immediately”, assures the entrepreneur, whose extensive experience (she was consulting director at PwC, international director of a large publishing house and partner-director in the golden years of the emblematic El Club Allard) made her realize that there was a very important niche to exploit in the capital: “The people of Madrid, as well as those who visit us, like to enjoy the night and I think that one that was different was missing. A crazy night –in the purest style of the 20s– in which you dress up, you dress up to go out and you feel special”.

This is how the concept of Fridays of Leclab, which comes to complete the membership in which a privileged few (partners permanently linked to the space) benefit from facilities such as access to private events or a different place to enter.

That is, those who buy the ticket for this burlesque show including dinner and winery (€75) will immediately become transit partners and they will be able to enjoy the space during that night [To be part of the club permanently, you will have to be invited by one of its ambassadors].

FRIDAYS AT LECLAB

And what is the show about? “This is a unique concept. a sophisticated and elegant party night, with a burlesque show from the beginning of the 20th century that transports you to other years in a peculiar and different space”, details Luisa Orlando. The luxury and decadent glamor of clubs of the glamorous Hollywood Golden Age, by the artistic director of Leclab and international performer LadyVita (Patricia Morote).

“He participated in an event that I held in Leclab and It was a magical encounter, an immediate crush. At that time she was working as an aeronautical engineer in a space rocket plant, a completely different world, but really her passion was the show, it is what she dreamed of dedicating herself to ”, comments the businesswoman about this multidisciplinary artist who, after falling in love with Luisa's project, she stopped building rockets to get on the club stage every weekend.

It offers Leclab.Madrid Fridays to its partners and clients a cocktail dinner –with Spanish tapas by Cristina Oria– enlivened by jazz music, dj and live music bands, before the live show starts.

“Instead of going out to dinner in a formal way, you participate in a party concept from minute one. People start interacting at 9:30 p.m. and end at three in the morning dancing”, Louise confirms. In addition, those who prefer to only go at the last minute will also be able to access the space for €30 –with a drink and a show– from 11:30 p.m. until closing.

In fact On Mondays they start with the socio-cultural activities of their Divergent Circle, open to thinkers, artists and personalities who question reality and provide a different perspective.

The club also offers burlesque workshops in which LadyVita teaches how to captivate like the great divas of the golden age of Hollywood and during which choreographies, movements and tricks such as walking and posing are learned.

“They are fantastic to reinforce a little self-esteem and the feeling of being a woman, in them you really learn to highlight all the capacities of our feminine part and that we do not know how to exploit.

Plus, We do it in a fun way." Luisa Orlando thinks, while she reminds us that they also have a clothing line linked to burlesque: “We have started with the gloves, a fundamental piece in the show, but that are also good for going out at night, for a party or a cocktail”.

SPACE

To carry out the interior design project, Luisa had the collaboration of the architect Teresa Sapey and Jaime Anduiza, art and film director which upgraded the space keeping the soul of it.

“In rehabilitation We have kept everything every wall, every plaster, without damaging the original structure of the building. For the setting of the house we have even left the trace of time: the walls are clean and sanitized, but we have recreated the marks left by the paintings and the clock”, he concludes.
