The Jinhua Book House.
While the majority of young people emigrate and move to big cities in search of new job opportunities, even today we find ourselves small projects in remote places that give us hope that the villages will not be left uninhabited.
One of those magical projects that encourage us to travel is the house of books designed by the Chinese architecture studio Shulin , in Wuyi county, Jinhua, Zhejiang province.

It is a small pine bookcase , which seems to levitate between centuries-old forests, mountains and the old houses scattered in the landscape.
The book house is located near the square where life takes place in this small Chinese village .The reason for such an unusual project?
The architecture studio is clear: "The house of books aims to create a serene reading space that invites people to come , attracting more young people and children to the mountains. It also provides a colorful and quiet place for children and the elderly to feel freedom and happiness ”, they explain from the Shulin studio.

The house has been built in what was an old stable with a nerve center, a nice courtyard where there is now a pond . "On rainy days it falls from the patio to the pond, and the sound can be heard inside the house... while when the sun shines, it creates a unique effect of light and shadows," they add.
The construction is supported by 10 columns that divide the space into three floors. On the first floor of the book house there is a semi-outdoor space with large windows and shelves all made of pine wood.
Closed spaces, like the children's playroom , are on the second floor, which are also connected to the outside with a staircase. The other places are fully open for villagers to drink, chat, etc.
The idea of open spaces allows adults to read quietly while watching their children read and play in an adjoining space.
A sustainable library between mountains.
The windows and walkways allow the reader to enjoy the landscape. The best? The sunlight that filters everywhere, this allows the use of energy through the solar panels arranged on the roof.
