the innovator Canalejas Center , which houses Four Seasons Hotel Madrid, unites a series of seven historic buildings, all impeccably restored and redesigned. The oldest part of the complex, originally The Palace of the Equitable , dates from 1887. The spectacular rotunda, topped with a copper dome, stands on the corner of Calle de Sevilla and Calle de Alcalá.
Equally impressive is the nearby facade of the main office of the Hispanic American Bank , whose construction began in 1902, and which today forms the main entrance to the luxury shops of the Canalejas Gallery.

The interior design of the hotel was carried out by BAMO in San Francisco.
