Music, outdoors and the parks of Valencia as undisputed protagonists of an equation that is difficult to understand why it had not occurred in the city before. If it is customary to witness it in the green spaces of destinations like Paris, London or Berlin, how is it possible that an enclave that drinks from the Mediterranean and from a large amount of sunlight on a daily basis did not have its own particular proposal. A pre-pandemic project designed to be launched in March 2020, which for more than obvious reasons – and closely following prudence – has not been able to become a reality until October this 2021. Because good things take time, but the excellent even more.

It was in September when it was presented by the hand of District Agency (spaces and brands agency based in Valencia, inspired by urban contexts) this first phase of a cycle of concerts that is scheduled to take place over the coming months and the second phase, throughout the first half of 2022.
serialparc translates into the new serial activation of the Valencia parks through music. “An annual activity that allows the public to soak up the city's green areas while enjoying a series of emblematic concerts that combine in the same action the sensitivity towards the environment and the need to protect it with a musical experience in an event that It will impact the emotions of the audience”, indicate the founders of Agència Districte, Vicent Molins, Quique Medina and Matt Soler.

A PROJECT TO WIDE THE CITY OF VALENCIA
'How is it possible that other european destinations take advantage of the time in outdoor spaces and not us?', was the question that kept haunting the heads of the creators of Agència Districte for quite some time before the pandemic made outdoor plans fashionable in green spaces and in broad daylight.
“The idea arises from the fact that we are obsessed with the city in daylight hours should be full of music. Now, with the pandemic, holding daytime events has become normal, but we started working on it much earlier. we already did it with The Pergola in La Marina and now we continue with a musical project, but this time exchanging the port for the city parks”, They tell Condé Nast Traveler.
“These spaces have always been in our sights and we started thinking about how we could occupy them so that people would enjoy them. And the best? That they discover areas that were not close to them or that they did not use to frequent often”, they add. Said and done.

It is just how it begins to shape Serialparc, a cycle of concerts that meet some of the Sundays of this last quarter of 2021 in different points of Valencia: in Benicalap Park, Cabecera Park, Malilla Park, West Park and Central Park.
“Right now what has been presented is the first half of the cycle. In January the second part will be presented, which will last until spring-summer and the idea is to circulate through all possible parks, prioritizing that they are little known. The selection criteria is very personal: which ones have we hardly been to? It is also true that after they sneak parks that we have already frequented, but that we have a special affection for them and that we like them a lot”, they indicate from Agència Districte.
One more campaign to activate the city that goes far beyond neighborhoods known for their location such as Carmen, ruzafa, Cánovas or Maritime Towns. Options such as Malilla, Benicalap or Tres Forques do nothing more than demonstrate that there is life –and a lot of it!– once the most touristic and frequented borders are crossed.

“In the end we are before the Valencia that interests the locals and, consequently, also to the people who visit us. We are doing an exercise of widening those seams and having them wider. Although ours is a small contribution, we are making it by and for the city. We do not want to live in 'bedroom neighborhoods', we also want life in them. Our intention is to honestly enrich the city”, add Vicent Molins, Quique Medina and Matt Soler.
To this add that Valencia makes it very easy as an ecosystem to do things in its parks, in addition to the fact that 60% of them already have the enclosures manufactured to be able to host musical performances.

The poster is designed from parity and aimed at a diverse audience, from teenagers, groups of friends, couples and families who do not hesitate to squeeze the sun's rays on a Sunday in La Terreta with the accompanying music.
The starting gun was given on Sunday, October 17 Ferran Palau and Mani Dii in the Benicalap Park; on sunday october 24 Fernando Alfaro and Lea Leone in the Parque de Cabecera; on November 14 Miguel Rivera (Magician) and Renaldo & Clara in the central Park; on November 21 at The Red Room and Charlotte in the Malilla Park; and Sunday December 19 Sandra Montfort and an artist to be confirmed in the Parque del Oeste.
The absolute triumph of this initial musical proposal? In the words of its own creators: “Success lies in mix audiences. In the absence of knowing how these musical dates happen, the intention is that there is Serialparc for a while. “It's not about doing a concert, it's about making a lasting concept that takes root. We hope it becomes a regular thing. People are excited, especially after all what we've been through in recent years. It is a very nice initiative”, they add from Agència Districte.
