They discover a new geoglyph in Peru
It is shaped like a cat, it is 37 meters wide and erosion and being located on a steep slope of the Natural Viewpoint of the Pampa de Nazca they made this geoglyph It was barely visible and was about to disappear.
Fortunately, the remodeling work that is being carried out on the Mirador, a rocky hill where numerous geoglyphs converge that can be seen from its top, left it uncovered and, after cleaning and restoring it, you can see the body in profile and the head in front of a feline drawn with lines between 30 and 40 centimeters wide.
As the Peruvian Ministry of Culture explains in a press release, the style of this new geoglyph corresponds to that of the time Late Paracas, before the famous figures of the Pampa de Nazca. And it is that the representations of cats are common in the iconography that can be seen in the ceramics and textiles of the Paracas society.
The Lines and Geoglyphs of Nazca and Palpa express the magical and religious world of the pre-Hispanic Paracas and Nazca societies, who for more than 1,500 years dedicated themselves to drawing them on the sand in the desert and in the mountains.
