Ljubljana is the Best European Destination to visit in 2022. This has been revealed by the European Best Destinations portal, which every year holds the Best in Europe vote to select the best destinations in Europe.
The thirteenth edition of the contest has received 528,069 votes from 182 different countries. The 56% of the votes cast are from people residing in Europe while the remaining 44% comes from other countries, which represents the highest percentage of votes coming from outside Europe since the creation of this vote and shows the strong interest of foreign travelers in returning to Europe.
In this very special year in which the light and the end of the tunnel seem to be getting closer, “The 10 most voted destinations win the right to use the title “European Best Destinations 2022” , point from the organization.
The vote was held between January 20 and February 10 through this website whose objective is to promote tourism and culture in the Old Continent. The question was simple: Where would you like to go on vacation in Europe 2022?

To answer it, they presented a total of 20 destinations, selected by EBD from a list of over 400.
And among them, a destination that has stood out above any other: Ljubljana, with 75,642 votes, which received a record number of votes from outside the country: 92%! (the highest percentage in the history of the contest.

Second, we find the only Spanish representative on the list, marbella , with 61,401 votes. The Andalusian destination is thus placed on the list of the best destinations in Europe in 2022 , Congratulations!

Amiens (France) reached the third position with 58,114 votes, followed by Plovdiv (Bulgaria), in fourth place with 51,024 votes and Leuven (Belgium) , in fifth position with 47,947 votes.
Completing the top 20: Oradea (6th), London (7th), Nijmegen (8th), Lahti (9th), Istanbul (10th), Amalfi Coast (11th), Prague (12th), Rome (13th), Bavaria (14th), Athens (15th ), Clonakilty (16th), Vienna (17th), Lucerne (18th), Graz (19th) and Crete (20th).
For the sixth consecutive year, three sustainable tourism destinations (Nijmegen, Lahti, Clonakilty) have been included in the contest in collaboration with the EDEN network created by the European Commission to promote sustainable tourism.
The high number of participants in the vote reveals the desire to travel, the prudent but growing optimism of people and what we all already know: Europe is in fashion. In fact, it has never stopped being.

Ljubljana, THE BEST DESTINATION IN EUROPE IN 2022
The capital of Slovenia It is the best destination on the Old Continent to travel to in 2022. The reasons? Many and the most varied:
Ljubljana is small and ideal for cycling and despite being the capital of the country, it is still a little known destination and far from mass tourism.
