The Palatine Gate of Turin will look a little more 21st century for a few days

It's not that it stopped being stately or imposingly spooky by nightfall, it's just that the Palatine Gate of Turin It will look a little more 21st century for a few days. Not in vain, some giant hands entwined at his feet. Not in vain, it is the place chosen by Saype the artist to resume his project Beyond Walls, the one with which he intends to create the largest human chain in the world.

June 2019 at the foot of the Eiffel Tower was the time and place chosen by Guillaume Legros (alias Saype) to start this chain and the message of unity that he wants to convey with it. Then came Andorra, Geneva, Berlin and the great leap to Africa, visiting Yamusukro (Ivory Coast) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso).

Turin has been the city chosen by Saype to resume his 'Beyond Walls' project

The pandemic put it on standby, postponing the seventh stage until this Thursday October 1 in which Turin you will see finished a fresco of 6,400 square meters (160 meters long by 40 meters wide).

“I have several mixed feelings. On the one hand, It is still clear that the atmosphere is one of uncertainty and that it is very difficult to foresee anything. On the other hand, I think it is important to persevere together to face the future”, Saype explained to Traveler.es when asked about his sensations.

“As far as my project is concerned, this complicates scheduling the next dates, but we are achieving it. I have to admit that I am somewhat frustrated that I cannot gather more people around my work, but hey, it's a stage in our history”, he says.

Pioneer of an artistic movement that combines street art and land art, Saype works on the grass using a biodegradable paint based on charcoal and chalk created by himself. which turns each of his monumental frescoes into an ephemeral intervention that disappears in a few days.

Hence the importance of being able to gather people around creation, which in this case has been carried out in collaboration with the Lavazza Group, so that The message of unity, mutual help and joint effort that he sends us reaches the whole world.
