Because The Goodtime Hotel is in Miami, specifically on Washington Avenue and 6th Street, an emblematic street for concentrating several of the city's great nightclubs –Cameo, Mansion, Liquid and Bash–, and a mojito ride away from historic South Beach. And yes, The Goodtime Hotel also has a touch a bit Miami Vice.

So imagine bubblegum sofas and bookcases, wicker armchairs, striped umbrellas, walls painted with tropical scenes, vintage, rotary, pink telephones, pineapple-shaped cocktail tables, leopard print benches, ethnic kilims, rugs that simulate wet foot prints, a pool in which the showers are palm leaves...
Imagination, extravagance, nostalgic vintage touches throughout and lots of sunlight and lots of joy and optimism.
Musician Pharrell Williams and nightlife magnate David Grutman are the creators of The Goodtime hotel.
Because the idea behind The Goodtime hotel is transport us to a happy place. A place where be relaxed, at ease and have fun, whether it be lying on a deckchair in the shade, eating healthy and exercising like crazy or having a good party.
“It's about offering a getaway within a city that is well known as a vacation destination. When you're at the Goodtime, we want your worries and anxieties to be left out,” declares the ever-smiling David Grutman, known tycoon of the night and Pharrell's partner in this new adventure.
It is the first hotel for both and in it they have participated architect Morris Adjmi, designer Ken Fulk, and landscape designer Raymond Jungles.

David Grutman is the architect that the Miami night is today what it is. We owe him the already legendary LIV, located in the Fontainebleau hotel, Story and LIV Sun Life Stadium, the nightclub within the stadium of the Miami Dolphins, managed by the latter in collaboration with his partner Jeffrey Soffer, ex-husband of top model Elle MacPherson.
Last year, Grutman also opened the Asian restaurant Komodo, also in Miami, in association with restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, well known for his China Grill restaurant chain.
Among Grutman's circle of close friends are Kanye West and Kim Kardashian, David and Victoria Beckham, Justin Bieber, Scottie Pippen, David Guetta... All of them were last week at the big hotel opening party, where, it seems, they had a good time.

The main restaurant at The Goodtime hotel is called Strawberry Moon, which is the lunar phase before the summer solstice, and in it you can breathe the energy of Miami mixed with the decadent aesthetics of Havana, Acapulco and other vacation destinations from the 1950s.
On the menu, mediterranean dishes, like fried chicken with za'atar and Turkish-style pizzas.
Next to it is a cafeteria serving locally roasted coffee, freshly squeezed juices and snacks, and our favorite area of the hotel: the pool. Or rather, the swimming pools, since they are two parallel pools lined with striped tiles and flanked by whimsical palm fronds (it's the showers!), loungers and shaded cabanas.

most of all 266 rooms have views of Biscayne Bay or the ocean, so the photons that you will be able to take from the sunrise are assured. And all of them, from the most modest to the suites, are full of vintage nods – look out for the pink telephones – and have light wood, mint green and pale pink furniture, amenities from the Sicilian brand Ortigia, beautiful personalized robes and curtains that can be completely blacked out, in case you need to sleep late.

In this colorful seven story hotel we also find a cocktail lounge in the lobby, a gym equipped with Peloton bikes and MyBeast training machines and indoor and outdoor areas, and a large shopping area.
The library, conceived as a multipurpose space, is inspired, according to Pharrell, in Margot Tenenbaum, the character created by Wes Anderson . In addition to sitting quietly to edit your photos and upload them to Instagram, here you can also socialize, have a coffee, a juice or a cocktail. Because that's what it's all about, we insist: having a good time. "This place will provide a good time for everyone who passes by," says the artist, that lately is not stopping.
In addition to opening this new hotel, it has just presented the new capsule collection for this spring 2021 of his clothing firm Bee Line By Billionaire Boys Club, created in collaboration with Timberland. Garments designed in a sustainable way to enjoy outdoor life and hiking with a clear message: "A greener future is a better future."
