HouseTroina , which is the name of the web portal where the houses are advertised, has proposed to facilitate both investment and bureaucracy for those interested, bearing in mind that many times, even if the houses cost 1 euro, the costs tend to reach higher figures when dealing with houses in poor condition.
What does this mean? “The initiative foresees that both the owners who intend to sell their property and the potential buyers give official communication to the Municipality, which, in addition to providing support to both and selecting the proposals received, will guarantee respect for the interests of the subjects involved, preparing the deeds assignment, guaranteeing the legitimacy of the intervention, in addition to providing specific facilities, such as tax exemptions and contributions”, they underline in a statement.
In other words, those who opt for a house for one euro or one of the cheapest houses in the old town will be able to receive "remodeling bonuses" of up to 15,000 euros as well as others 10,000 euros for energy efficiency works , but they will have two years to present the building remodeling project.
And if you want to become permanent resident of Troina but you do not want to renovate a house in ruins, the City Council is willing to provide you with up to 8,000 euros for buying a house that does not require updating.
"In recent months there have been many requests to purchase properties in our historic center from all over the world, including the United States, England, Germany, France, Belgium, Turkey, Brazil, Peru, Argentina and the Netherlands, and many potential buyers they have already done it", explains the mayor in the same statement.
Since January, 30 homes have been put up for sale , while 100 could leave in the coming months as their former owners give them up.
