Yosemite Falls, the wildest landscape
few know the Yosemite National Park and, even fewer know how to pronounce it correctly. This is important for locals to understand when you ask or talk about one of the most magical places in California: it is not “Yosemait”. The correct pronunciation is, almost as it sounds: “Yosemidi” . This National Park is three hours from San Francisco and four and a half hours from Los Angeles by car, if there is no traffic. It should be on your must-stop list if you're planning a trip to the Gold Coast.

In Yosemite we find the highest waterfall in North America. With 739 meters high , Yosemite Falls offers quite a spectacle for lovers of nature and photography. Yosemite is also becoming the center of attention during events like eclipses and supermoons, Well, there is no better place, away from pollution, to appreciate these gifts of infinity.
Getting to the top of Yosemite Falls is not a very complicated task. There are two main sections. First, Lower Falls, is the simplest and most popular. In fact, it is so popular that in the summer months it is too crowded, but the experience is still mandatory. The second, Upper Falls , is for those who are in good physical condition and want to experience more risky and exciting adventures.

LOWER YOSEMITE FALL TRAIL
It is a simple route, with a lot of tourist traffic, but it gives you a good perspective of the waterfall from its bottom . Photographic opportunities are good and it is worth visiting during the summer months. August is the time when the waterfall has the highest flow , so on the way you will get a little wet. It can be done easily in an hour and is suitable for everyone (even your best friend, if you're on a leash). Lower Falls is a trail available year-round.

UPPER FALLS
It is important to be physically prepared for the journey. In this case the ascent, although quite long, is easier than the descent. The path is not as well prepared as the Lower Falls and you have to be vigilant to see where you are stepping at all times.
During the first two hours of travel you will border the famous mountain of El Capitan . Later, you will find a view of the waterfall from its lower part, accompanied by a beautiful rainbow effect.
The rest of the ascent will be steeper and longer. Once at the top, and if you are not afraid of heights, you can take impressive photos from the cliffs . If you dare to go a little further, you can stand right on top of the waterfall to watch it fall. There is a hidden path Yosemite Fall Overlook , which leads you to this half-secret place. The route is very narrow and you will have to go sideways holding on to a railing. The experience is dizzying and not for the faint of heart, but the view is worth the effort. We do not recommend doing this last section if it has snowed or if the ground is frozen , since a slip can be fatal.
Upper Falls is a route with less influx of tourists, much quieter and more relaxing. The total route is about 12 km. (it can take between 6-8 hours to do it, so it is advisable to arrive early) . From the top, you'll have the perfect opportunity to photograph Yosemite Falls next to Half Dome . The path is usually open throughout the year, but in winter it is advisable to be careful with the snow, especially from Columbia Rock.
