How would you describe Addis Ababa and by extension Ethiopia to someone who doesn't know it?

It is a city surrounded by beautiful mountains where the traditional and the contemporary merge in perfect harmony. That makes her unique. It usually smells like freshly brewed coffee. Here coffee is the national drink and is drunk on every corner – in fact, it is the best. In the streets, the noise of traffic mixes with the hymns and prayers of churches and mosques.** Besides, this is an ancient country which has a lot to offer and the new generation of Ethiopians want to project themselves to the world for their culture, for their unique and historic role in Africa, for their wildlife, and for food, art and music. So it should be on everyone's wish list!

After living and working all over the world you ended up settling in Addis Ababa, why?

I always had a nagging feeling that he would come back. I have been going back and forth for many years. Every time I came there was a sense of connection and deep attachment and, Every time I left, I felt a deep sadness, An empty space. Today there is no other place you would rather be. It has also been great for the children to connect with their culture and learn the language.
