For just a few months this Briton, brimming with energy and good humour, organizes with his partner Julien, a renowned hairdresser who regularly collaborates with Armani, LV and Hermès among others, the most romantic dinners in Paris: "Actually -he tells us- what we offer is more than a dinner it is a unique experience ”.
'Full Afternoon Tea', a cheaper snack, no less romantic
The experience begins with a reception based on Champagne Louis Roederer , background music and a bouquet of roses. Below is a menu of five plates served in authentic 19th century Minton porcelain . Nothing is neglected here, even the napkins are hand-embroidered. And all this with a single exceptional witness, the Basilica of the Sacred Heart , the second most visited religious monument in France. Because whoever comes to Andrew and Julien's dinners is naturally looking for something original and unrepeatable. “People come here to celebrate a special occasion, an anniversary… Once we attended a marriage proposal. We were in tears of emotion."
This select dinner costs between 200 and 250 euros per person . Although it sounds excessive, Andrew tells me that all the products are of the highest quality, the best wines (a bottle is around 50 euros) and even cheeses that are brought directly from England.
For those who do not want or cannot pay this amount but want to enjoy this particular English corner in Montmatre, the hosts offer an alternative option: “Full Afternoon Tea”, a typical English snack where there is no lack of traditional scones (whose recipe, he confesses, he got it when he worked in Buckingham), homemade cakes, sandwiches and Russian Earl Gray tea. All this for 75 euros per person.
