The Jupe company has created a prefabricated house intended for escape in 2021
If there is a word that defines the great wish of the year 2021, this is get away . Escape to the depths of the forest, escape to that destiny that has been pending for months or, perhaps, for years; escape to visit our family, and escape to continue treasuring experiences. The idea of bringing to life escape pods is the great leitmotif behind the new premade house which has been announced by the company Jupe, and which bears the homonymous designation of the American startup.
"This is a time when people want to get out of the cities so they can gaze at the stars. So we thought, why not build a space where they can do that? Away from the hustle and bustle of the city and its bright lights. Being off the grid, in nature, is more important now than ever," Jeff Wilson, CEO and co-founder of Jupe told Traveler.es.
The capsules have been designed by workers of the company (a company dedicated to space transportation services SpaceX , electric car manufacturers Tesla and the platform airbnb ). "It helps that we built Jupe with engineers who once built rockets for SpaceX that will one day go to Mars," he adds.

So much so that the prefab shelters have obtained the name Jupe for Jupiter , "We were inspired by the angular cuts of a gemstone, the space-age surfaces of a stealth plane and, recently, the look into the future of a Tesla Cybertruck." This concept has been captured through a geometric structure which is supported by aluminum masts and a minimalist aesthetic that is responsible for merging the contemporary with functional design.
Upon entering the jupe prefabricated house , travelers will find a fitted bed, designer desk and chair, an interior design proposal that has been developed in collaboration with boutique hotel Liz Lambert and award-winning sustainable architecture expert and former head of social innovation at the platform AirBnB rental, Cameron Sinclair.
Although the truly fascinating thing about this structure, apart from the aesthetics and the vast experience of the designers who have designed it, is that can be stored flat and then moved to any corner of the planet where you want to look at the stars, without having to take into account the electrical network.
From the startup they also ensure that can easily adapt to very different environments , such as the desert, a forest, the shores of a lake, or even a place characterized by strong gusts. Likewise, the mobile capsule has a fire-resistant canvas roof and a front façade that acts as a panoramic window by allowing you to lose yourself before majestic views.
As part of the launch, Jupe will embark on a tour of California and Nevada in 2021 to showcase its features and capabilities, with stops in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Lake Tahoe, among other places. Jupe manufactured homes are available for be requested in advance in a pre-sale at 80 euros , with a tentative delivery date in the spring of 2021, or 14,250 euros in a second instance.
