sky trax is an international air transport rating organization based in London and its World Airport Awards are the most coveted quality accolades for airports, representing a benchmark of excellence throughout the world.
In addition, Skytrax prepares a classification of airports by stars that it periodically reevaluates, as has happened with the renewed 5-star certification that has just been awarded to Munich airport again.
By maintaining this rating, Munich Airport remains the only airport in Europe to have this top-tier status in 2020.

Munich Airport is the second busiest airport in Germany and the second main airport of the German airline Lufthansa.
Munich has received the awards for Best Airport in Europe, Best Airport in Central Europe and Best Airport: 40-50 million passengers at the World Airport Awards 2020.
In the ceremony held virtually on May 10, Munich airport got the fifth position in the world ranking , behind the Changi International Airport (Singapore), Tokyo-Haneda International Airport (Japan), Hamad International Airport (Doha, Qatar) and Incheon International Airport (Seoul, South Korea).
Only two European airports are in the world top 10: the one in Munich and the one in Amsterdam Schiphol.

In May 2015, Munich Airport was awarded 5-star status for the first time after an extensive review by the Skytrax Institute in London. Furthermore, it was also the first European airport to receive this seal of quality.
In a first recertification, in March 2017, Munich Airport successfully maintained its 5-star status and now, auditors in london have once again subjected the bavarian aviation center to a detailed assessment.
The conclusion of the auditors is that Munich Airport not only has it maintained its high quality of service and hospitality, but has expanded it even further.

AN AIRPORT OF HEIGHT
During the course of this latest audit, they have closely examined all airport service facilities relevant to passengers.
Thus, special attention was paid to the new services that have been added in recent years, such as the new lounges in Terminal 1, the redesigned arrivals area in Terminal 2, the security check in Terminal 2 (which has been upgraded with innovative technology), the user-online booking platform for parking customers and the new Munich Airport website (launched in 2017).
Confirmation of 5-star status was also influenced by the extensive measures implemented at Munich Airport to deal with the coronavirus, in accordance with the hygiene and cleanliness standards established in the country.

The airport of the German city has established new standards in the European airport landscape with renewed confirmation of your seal of approval.

Of the seven international airports that have been awarded Skytrax's five-star seal of approval, Munich remains the only European airport.
The list of five-star airports is completed by: Doha International Airport or Hamad International Airport (Qatar), Hong Kong International Airport (China), Incheon International Airport (Seoul, South Korea), Hongqiao International Airport (Shanghai), Singapore International Airport or Changi International Airport (Singapore) and Tokyo-Haneda International Airport.
