There is a new viewpoint in the city of Barcelona , is called Unlimited Barcelona and is 70 meters high. The first watchtower open to Barcelonans and visitors is located in the tallest building in the center, the Urquinaona Tower , an iconic octagonal building located in Plaza Urquinaona in Barcelona. It is the tallest in the downtown area, the work of the architect Antonio Bonet.

The Urquinaona Tower was built between 1968 and 1970 and is in the rationalist style, and is also included in the Architectural Heritage of Catalonia and it is considered a "skyscraper", taking into account that the architectural tradition and the height of the buildings in Barcelona, ​​does not exceed 172 meters.

The Unlimited Barcelona viewpoint is located in a space with a surface area of ​​500 m2 where you can see the entire city in 360º. Inside it offers the visitor a visual tour of the city with an audio guide -in Spanish, Catalan, English and French- downloadable via QR codes.

The visit is completed with temporary art exhibitions inside the space that, with its privileged location, join the cultural circuit of the city and support local artists who want to exhibit their work eventually and free of charge.

Which one can you see if you go right now? For the inauguration of the space there has been a representative sample of the work of the sculptor Naxo Farreras and the painter Pillar Strap.

THE ROUTE

To visit the new viewpoint you can take a tour that is organized through the different windows that turn the space around. A total of 22 windows and 10 audio guide points , from where you can understand the most significant aspects of the history of Barcelona, ​​its neighbourhoods, the most iconic buildings and even the most curious anecdotes.

This tour begins with Urquinaona Tower and the Millenary City, that is to say, with views towards the Montjuic mountain and the city that starts from the sea with La Rambla and Plaza Catalunya.

The next thing you will see is old city with the Cathedral and the church of Santa Maria del Pi; Plaza Urquinaona and the industrialization of the city, with the Fàbregas building, Santa Maria del Mar and, towards the sea, the Hotel Vela.

Following, the 1888 Expo and 1992 Olympics, The Holy Family and Gaudí 9. 'Eixample Vision' will show you the views towards the Mapfre Tower, the Hotel Arts, the Olympic Village, Parc de la Ciutadella, among others; and finally, the neighborhoods of Sants, Gràcia, Poblenou or Sant Andreu.

HOW TO VISIT IT

Unlimited Barcelona is open to the public on weekends and holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. ; also during the Easter and Christmas holidays, and daily during the months of July and August. During weekdays the space is rented for events.
