A virtual tour of the Pompeii excavations
In these weeks of confinement, an infinity of institutions have allowed us to rejoice from the comfort of our home with virtual walks and festivals . We have succumbed to the art rooms of the Prado Museum , the treasures of the Galleria Degli Uffizi, the nature of the National Parks of the United States and we even discover the ornamentation or historical details that the moscow metro.
But this time it was Italy who has redoubled the bet by putting at our disposal a unique tour of the masterful excavations of the last two years in the Pompeii region V ; a tour promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Massimo Osanna, Director of the Pompeii Archaeological Park.
It is a video of about seven minutes in which Osanna He guides us with his story -and a film of indisputable quality-, through each of the nooks and crannies and distinctive sites that were recently discovered in the project.
Magnanimous Pompeii
Thanks to the ministry's initiative to assemble the images from the drones, we can meddle in the extraordinary everyday life of this civilization that was buried by the ashes and lava produced by the Vesuvius eruption in AD 79.

Also, the virtual tour allows us to delve into Via di Nola , one of the famous streets within the archaeological site, the road responsible for articulating trade before the eruption.

THE GREAT POMPEII PROJECT
Although the excavations began in 1748, the most transcendental event of the last decade is the Great Pompeii Project . Launched in order to safeguard one of the most valuable heritage for the History of Humanity.
Bliss recovery work meant a disbursement of some 140 million euros, largely financed by the European Union, which has allowed the world, after five years of hard work, to succumb to sculptures, mosaics, inscriptions, furniture and precious objects of the ancient decoration of the city of Pompeii.
Undoubtedly, the most relevant discoveries that took place at the end of November of last year are the Domus di Leda and the swan , with refined decorations, and the central bath complex , located at the intersection of via di Nola and via Stabiana , both restored in the conservation process and visible to the public for the first time in history.
