The Dunton Hot Spring Bathhouse.
When the miners of the Dolores County in Colorado began to isolate themselves and had problems transporting their goods, they decided to leave Dunton , a small settlement of prospecting for gold and silver very popular in 1800, in the United States.
That was how this town formed by small cabins surrounded by the West Dolores River was left without inhabitants. Nor had they become many, but in their best period, 1905, they counted up to 400 people. The ranch was especially attractive for its geological location , since it has thermal waters that right now serve spa but at the time they were very interesting for their minerals. Most of the residents left the camp in 1910, and in 1918, the town was already deserted.

Until 1970, Dunton remained abandoned , although who could assure that it was completely? In 1970, Joe and Dominica Rosario bought it to use as tourist ranch until 1980 when it was closed again and for sale.
After seven years of renovation, finally in 1994, Christoph Henkel left the Dunton curse behind and turned it into what it is now, Dunton Hot Springs, a resort for adventurers where they can enjoy nature, accommodation and reconnect with oneself.

DUNTON'S NEW LIFE
Of ghost town only the stories remain. Now Dunton is a luxury ranch with 13 cabins with a total capacity for 44 people and baptized with the name of the most well-known miners of the town.
Each of them is designed in a different way and all made of wood, and with great detail. Rates can be as high as $630 a night in the Echo Cabin and $2,100 during the spring summer season in others like the Potter House, which seats ten people and has a small lake next to it.
If you prefer live an experience different the best is Dunton Store with Indian style tent and private pool. Quite a tribute to american west they say All of them compatible with their thermal waters to give you an open-air bath and its spa treatments, as well as yoga and pilates classes overlooking the telluride mountains in Colorado.
