These cabins will be reason enough for you to want to cross the world

Australia, we have already told you, will be your favorite destination this 2019. And much of the blame lies with its virgin and grandiloquent landscapes, which it has in the Freycinet National Park -one of the oldest and most visited in Tasmania- one of its most spectacular expressions: pink granite mountains, pristine white sand beaches, forests of giant trees, turquoise waters...

This year, moreover, completely immersing yourself in the untamed nature of the place becomes a five-star experience thanks to the new project of Liminal Studio , the Coastal Pavilions . These artistic lodgings of character sustainable expand the Freycinet Lodge , built in the 90s, with a vision much more typical of our time.

The sinuous shapes mimic the cliffs in the area.

"Our waterfront pavilions add a point of differentiation from the 60 cottages already established as part of the 1990s development," he begins. Peter Hefferman , co-founder and director of Liminal Studio. "Our goal has been to offer a new style of accommodation in keeping with the natural beauty of the park , providing an experience for guests that respects their context, that part of it. We also seek to create environmentally sensitive spaces, innovative from an architectural point of view, but at the same time elegant, that respectfully settle into the environment, increasing the feeling of immersion and awareness of nature".

Likewise, Liminal has decided not only to take a step further in the architecture built in this protected environment -which advances from the typical family cabins to constructions as beautiful as they are imaginative-; also improve the area through different sustainable initiatives, such as planting 650 species specific to the park in the accommodation area, in addition to taking into account the needs of the community that inhabits the area at the time of continuing to build. Will this be the way to approach construction in natural areas in the future?

Sustainable mood.

"Although we do not believe that our Coastal Pavilions are going to change the world of tourism, we do believe that the social and environmental responsibility that we have assumed should be the driver of any development in such a privileged location, in order to show respect and make a positive contribution to the environment”, replies the expert. “Understanding the microclimate and cultural significance of the site ensures that the results are shaped by place and therefore are unique ".

Thus, the sinuous curves of the new construction are inspired by “ the flowing forms of the nearby bays and coastal granite rock formations,” explains Hefferman, while paying homage to the park itself by using locally made woods and merging with the environment through infinite windows . “The generous deck allows each guest to enjoy the outdoors within the privacy of each guest's pavilion, while watching the sunset with a glass of Tasmanian champagne or a good local whiskey”, concludes the architect. We would take it directly into that appetizing outdoor bathtub , under the stars...
