Entrance to the White Summer Festival
Yesterday the White Summer festival began in Sotogrande, Cádiz, a now classic event in the summers of the Costa Brava which this year is also celebrated for the first time in the South and in the summer area of The Rock Village from Barcelona.
In August, at six in the evening, when the sun begins to stop stinging, pink aliens parade through the rice fields of the Montgrí-Illes Medes natural park and creatures with chicken and elephant heads. Also acrobats, illusionists, dancers, poets and designers, musicians... In the eight editions that White Summer Costa Brava has been held, in this privileged space of the Catalan Empordà Many, many curious things have happened.

“We were born in 2012 as an emerging art and design market with food trucks and performances, but we have been a full-fledged festival for some time now,” says its creator, Myriam Cuatrecasas. In fact, it is the eighth festival in attendance in Spain: 140,000 people in 2018.
A tribe in which there is room for activities and performances for all ages. “We have created an entire cultural sphere that connects multigenerational interests: trampolines and DJ's, pony rides and yoga classes, acoustic concerts, interactive shows, parades, circus…” explains Myriam, who spends the year discovering artists and exploring trends and topics of interest.
“Our goal is to stimulate curiosity, encourage talent and serve as a meeting point for a community of creatives and restless minds wanting to have a good time and break down barriers”, she continues with a proud smile. That and create destiny. "People who spend the summer in Pals tell us that they no longer remember what they did to have a good time in exhaustion before the White Summer began to be celebrated".

In this summer's White Summer programme, which is being held for the first time in sotogrande, Cádiz, at the Santa María Polo Club, there will be, among many other proposals: dance shows such as that of the choreographer Aina Lanas, theatrical gags that make us aware of the (no) use of plastic, talks about emotional health, veganism or natural cosmetics; children's workshops on painting, recycling, gardening or cartoons; the DJ sessions by Shakti Alliance, Pau Rosés, Yann Eras, Sonikgroove, El Golfo de Guinea, Ant aka A-Tweed or Black & Deckard and concerts by Aisha Fay, Cupido, Cesc, Delaporte, Long live Sweden, The Blue House or Rosario Flores (only in Sotogrande on August 5) . And, above all, many people wanting to connect.
As if this were not enough, until August 31, White Summer will also be present at The Rock Village of Santa Agnès de Malanyanes, Barcelona, with two scenarios with live music, The Yummie Spot gastronomic space, an original chill-out and a stimulating flea market, The Creative Spot Market, with more than 40 emerging brands.

The festival White Summer Costa Brava It takes place at the Les Serres de Pals estate, in Empordà, Girona, from August 3 to 25, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
White Summer Sotogrande, will be held at the Santa María Polo Club, Cádiz, from July 25 to August 31.
