On March 13, shops, bars, restaurants closed. Spain entered a confinement that has not yet been overcome. And the Sandoval brothers, four days later, decided to refocus that illusion contained in a new project that is born now: CoquettoGo, your home service stamp.

“In reality, home delivery and take away were born with the DNA of Coquetto Bar. We had planned to develop this project, because the premises are small and located in an office area , a lot of trade, and with all this we have advanced it”, explains Diego Sandoval, soul of the room in Coque.

Even before we reached this situation, the Sandovals were considering the idea of ​​home delivery. His famous suckling pig could now be picked up and taken from his restaurant in Humanes. And more and more people asked them to bring their kitchen closer.

Quarantine has been a very active time for the Sandovals. “Four days after being home, we called each other on Zoom and We said we had to do something for the city We spoke with the Madrid City Council and we began to give meals at the Valle Inclán School”, continues Diego. 1,200 meals have given, while at the same time they thought in detail about the launch of CoquettoGo.

"We wanted to do something more personal, the brand asked us, sustainability, origin... We have contracted bicycles and electric cars for delivery, we do a very personal service, It's almost as if the waiter came to your house, well dressed, following all safety guidelines, as in our premises.

CoquettoGo is requested by Whatsapp. You write to the number that appears on their website and they respond by sending you the letter, you ask and then you choose the payment option. They serve all of Madrid, from Thursday to Sunday, between 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the morning and 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at night; but the orders must be requested before 10 in the morning of the same day. In the case of its unmistakable lacquered suckling pig, it must be ordered 24 hours in advance.

They have started with a menu that includes dishes from the history of Coque. "The pig (soon in quarters to be able to finish it at home), our roasts and marinades, the pork knuckle, the braised veal cheek, the veal shank… and all accompanied by potato wedges, mashed potatoes or live lettuce”. Everything arrives well packaged and in a packaging that, of course, responds to its sustainable philosophy: recyclable and composted material.

They thought of dishes that would travel well within their trajectory and their history, dishes that Coque's clients know and want at his house. "These are dishes that have been in Coque all our lives, throughout our history, which is very long," says Diego. "Those roast dishes and with those Mario techniques at your house. Because Mario's kitchen can't travel. They are very controlled things and very meticulous dishes. But he can travel well throughout this trajectory of the meats that have been on our menus and it is the best way to adapt to this new scenario”.

This week also They will include complete menus with first, second and desserts. "In Coquetto bar there will be dishes of the day, cocidito, spoon", says Diego. Next week they will add fresh dishes to the home menu: mango salmorejo, gazpacho, almond cream, ajoblanco… that can be ordered with wines, a selection of 12 references chosen by Rafael, wines from Madrid, ecological, special and at an adjusted price. Another key to CoquettoGo (and the future Coquetto Bar), the price of this new concept is accessible and affordable, for all.

"All this has given us a boost and a shot of adrenaline and hope that we are like crazy", Diego very honestly admits. An illusion that they only want to share and spread. “We want to create trust in people, share that we are going to open with great security and, above all, give hope to the country so that we can return to being the Spain that we were, little by little”.
