It is not a joke or a fantasy. It's the very same recreation of Cast Away, but this time, you won't need to talk to Wilson, because you'll have a total of 60 movies to play for seven days. That is the prize offered this year the Gothenburg Film Festival and you can win it , you just have to be a true movie lover.
It is the largest festival in the Nordic countries. and they are used to accompanying their premieres at seminars, live music, exhibitions and other events. But you know, renew or die. Faced with this impossibility, they have turned the format upside down and they have created a metaphor for the consequences that the pandemic has left in its wake.

THE EXPERIENCE OF YOUR LIFE
The purpose of the festival is take those emotions and sensations to the extreme , reaffirming ourselves in a more authentic solitude. Forget the beach, the sun, the coconuts and the palm trees if that's what you're thinking. This experience is called The Isolated Cinema and will take place on Hamneskär Island, in Sweden. The landscape is as overwhelming as it is imposing, since it is one of the places where the wind blows the most in the area.
Between huge waves that break against the rocks is this inaccessible piece of land, in which the Pater Noster lighthouse rises, which will become a particular cinema during the seven days . The former lighthouse keeper lived there until the 1960s, and since then, it has been automatic, no one has stepped on the stage. The lucky one will live there for the whole week and the living room will be the place of the projections.
The chosen person will be transferred by boat to the place. Over there, the festival will be in charge of supplying food and groceries, but the cooking is done by oneself . With so much free time, perhaps it is the least important thing, since you have to bear in mind that it is absolutely forbidden to bring any type of entertainment, that includes mobile phone or even a book.
The 60 premieres of the festival will be your only companions along with the noise of the waves. Even so, for security reasons, a person from the team will remain there during the same days and there will be a brief daily meeting to find out if the person needs help with some matter.
The requirements to take into account to be chosen are clear. You have to be an inveterate movie lover but also someone who be willing to spend a week in complete solitude . Furthermore, one of the conditions of experience is that each day record a video as a diary, through a computer or iPad that will be awarded by the festival and that will be exhibited through online channels.
The halls and stadiums of the festival appear empty and are moved to the Pater Noster lighthouse.
