Anonim

We have traveled many times to one of our favorite corners of Galicia, Death Coast, but never before have we done it to immerse ourselves in an ornithological experience, spreading our wings to enjoy an exciting flight like a real bird of the area.

we got to Carnota (Carretera de Santiago de Compostela, detour to Santa Columba and AC-400) a small coastal town of about 4,000 inhabitants located in the southwest of the province of A Coruña and which belongs to the region of Muros.

In this town is our accommodation for a special and unique weekend in wild nature, the Carnota Nests . They are designer cabins devoted to enjoyment, surrounded by wild beaches, abundant birdlife and immersed in a forest at the foot of the Atlantic in one of the areas with the highest bird watching in Galicia, the Carnota lagoon.

What better than a cabin to reconnect with nature?

A total of seven nests, of which some have their private pool, make up this complex in which tribute is paid not only to the birds of the area but also to art, to nature and to desire to spread the wings very strong to embrace the origins of this land.

Behind the appearance of a design cabin, immersed in a forest, hides a luxury suite with views of Carnota beach, an intimate, cozy stay, with our own terrace, a solarium area, king size bed, a large circular bathtub and all the necessary equipment to live an unforgettable experience.

The creator of this work is Miguel Fernandez, adventurer, entrepreneur and young entrepreneur: “I decided to create the Nidos de Carnota in homage to my father and the birds of the area, so each of the cabins is dedicated to a bird from the environment and, therefore, its interior decoration is adjusted to the colors of the chosen bird. This project would have no meaning or reason to exist were it not for the birds that live and transit in this territory.”

We are surrounded by an intimate and relaxing atmosphere that conquers us with the whisper of the wind and the fresh fragrance of nature while a starry sky floods us, we are sheltered by the light of the fire that turns our nest into a true home. And we only think one thing: let time stop!

After hearing the first songs of the birds and birds around us, we know that breakfast awaits us. We approach the cafeteria/nido with spectacular views of Carnota beach and nature. We put on the boots with traditional Galician products such as loaf bread, honey and jams from the area, freshly baked homemade cake.

The Granary of Carnota

The Granary of Carnota.

There are many interesting plans to discover! We recommend you approach the Granary of Carnota, the most representative construction of the municipality, declared a National Monument and classified as the largest granary in Galicia, with a length of 34.76 meters.

Its majesty and elegance have to do with its size and age. The mastery with which it was made and which rests on twenty-two pairs of feet, it is due to D. Gregorio Quintela.

Those who are passionate about routes cannot miss the climb to the Mount Pindo. There are several signposted hiking trails to explore this legendary mountain, but the most recommended is the Route of A Moa , a circular route of just over 9 kilometers that begins at the back of the Pindo, in the village of O Fieiro, ascend the Pico de A Moa until you reach the hidden Cueva de Casa Xoana and Pico Peñafiel to finally return to the starting point.

we take a walk around this infinite beach of fine sand that delights us with a wild beauty while the blue of the sky blends with orange and reddish tones that give us a bucolic sunset.

This beach, besides being one of the greatest points of ecological and landscape interest Galicia, is considered (by the German magazine Traum Strande) as one of the 100 best beaches in the world. It is a beach with its perfect crescent shape, a preserved space, preserved virgin and without any type of service and that is what makes it a special place.
