It's not just another video about London . In fact, the videos of ** Oliver Astrologo ** are never just another video. Where the viewer, saturated with audiovisual stimuli, probably initially sees 6 minutes of footage, we see a love letter to the British capital, with its lights and shadows, with the tranquility of its parks and the hustle and bustle of the City, with the joy of a sunny day in its neighborhoods and anger at the political turmoil that Brexit is leaving behind.

With Londoners what Astrologer wanted was show the essence of the city , something that he considers difficult since it changes with each of the trends that are constantly emerging.

The day to day of the city made video

“I moved to London four years ago and I spent two years immersing myself in all the neighborhoods of London, from its most famous streets to its secret places, with the sole intention of recording a tiny part of the soul of this city and condensing it into a video”, explains the Italian director.

Astrologer started recording towards the end of 2016 and when he looks back, he does not hesitate to describe this work as "one of the most demanding and challenging projects of my career, since I have collected more than 6,000 video clips recorded with different types of camera and devices for more than two years”.

Londoners shows over 70 city locations. From mythical prints to places that only Londoners usually know. Thus, we go from Buckingham Palace or Trafalgar Square to hidden streets outside the tourist circuits or pubs only frequented by locals.

Among these last experiences, Astrologo recommends “see the dinosaur sculptures in Crystal Park, the deer in Richmond Park; visit the market at Billingsgate Market; and stroll through Highgate Cemetery in which there are several famous people buried, such as Karl Marx, Michael Faraday or Douglas Adams”.

Anyone who lives here can be a 'Londoner'

Because yes, this video leaves little to the mystery and from the beginning, with the title of Londoners, it already declares that this is about people. “Londoner is not just a person born and raised in London. We can define this term as 'a state of mind'. To be honest, anyone living in the city can consider themselves as such as liberality and tolerance are intrinsic to London life. That's why I chose that title”, he explains to Traveler.es.

It is in this open and welcoming character that Astrologo insists. "Regardless of what may happen with Brexit, this city shows that it will always be open to foreigners because they are an important part of it."
