Malta, far from mass tourism
For Astrologo, Malta is an archipelago of contrasts and surprises and his latest video, which he has recorded in collaboration with Leticia Piacentini, is a way of making us travel through its nooks and crannies: from the colorful village of Marsaxlokk, with its fishermen and its traditional Luzzu, to the cliffs of Gozo, passing through the ancient capital Mdina or the imposing St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta, Astrologo writes on his Vimeo page.
"What impressed me most were the salt pans on the north coast of the island of Gozo , where the coast is characterized by being a mosaic of salt flats carved into the rock that jut out from the sea. These 350-year-old salt pans are part of the region's tradition of producing sea salt, which has passed from generation to generation within some families," Astrologo tells Traveler.es.
Authentic, bright and from the air
The photographer toured the archipelago in winter, which he gave "the opportunity to record it without the tumult of tourism and better focusing on some moments of local life, like the fishermen of Marsaxlokk or people of Valletta" . To better capture the scenic grandeur of Malta, Astrologo primarily used the drone, allowing him to play with aerial shots and show a lesser-known perspective of the destination.
