DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY RECORD. 138 photographers from 39 countries around the world have been commissioned by Obscura to make the largest photographic registry of the 21st century. The World Today is made up of a globally diverse group of artists with extensive international experience, including some contributors to Condé Nast Traveler, such as Nani Gutiérrez.
Each photographer will produce 100 NFTs from photographs taken during the month of March 2022, documenting the cities, towns, landscapes, people and events that will tell the story of our world for centuries to come. It is an ode to legendary curator Edward Steichen's 20th century project The Family of Man for the MoMA exhibition.
The unpublished works will be revealed to the public as NFT photographs minted in a smart contracts Obscura Custom, and the acquisition of NFT tokens by collectors will provide support and sponsorship for the 138 photographers selected for The World Today 10K+ commission.
