The monsoon, as this atmospheric phenomenon is known, is usually unpredictable and capricious, and there is no guide or weather forecast that guarantees you to get rid of a good downpour. Even so, if you are thinking of traveling to one of the Asian countries and trying to escape a “stormy” trip , below we tell you the months you should avoid and the most advisable to visit the areas affected by rainfall.
THAILAND
The Phi Phi Islands , which Leonardo Di Caprio made famous throughout the world starring in The Beach , they are not the same if you see them in January than if you do it in July . The months of May to October are quite wet in Phuket, Krabi, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Lanta and the rest of the Thai west coast.
The best alternative to enjoy the paradisiacal beaches during this period, we find it on the east coast. In Koh Samui , in Koh Tao , chosen by those who want to start diving or Koh Phangan , famous for its massive full moon parties; the monsoon starts in october and ends in march . In Bangkok, the summer months are also the rainiest and can last until december.

MALAYSIA
Just like in Thailand, the coast washed by the Andaman Sea, suffers from the monsoon from May to October . The same goes for the Malaysian territory of borneo . During these months, you can snorkel in the Redang marine area or bathe in the waters of Perhentian or Tioman on the east coast ; where storms start in October and continue through February or March.

VIETNAM
Vietnam is a country of contrasts, as their temperatures vary markedly from one region to another . The rains affect the north from May to October, and when they give truce, the cold arrives . Do not be scared, that the month of April is perfect to visit Hanoi, the exuberant rice fields of Sapa and one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World, ha long bay.
In the center of Vietnam, cities like Hue and Hoian attract tourists from January to September, while in the south, hochiminh , formerly known as Saigon, does so from October to April.

CAMBODIA AND LAOS
Tourists go to these two bordering countries more in search of temples than spectacular beaches, so sudden storms do not completely spoil the idyllic image of its landscapes . However, it must be taken into account that the sun usually sets from May to early November.

INDONESIA
It is impossible to name the multitude of islands that make up this wonderful country, but we cannot ignore the best known :
In Java , the most populated on the planet, shines the sun from April to October, while in Bali and Lombok it usually lasts a month longer , beginning the showers at the end of November.

Although the cities of Bagan and Mandalay are the least affected by the rains, in the country of the eternal smile they do not stop from May to October , harming tourism in places like the one photographed inle lake.
PHILIPPINES
It is advisable to avoid the Philippines from May to November , as monsoon rainfall is often accompanied by typhoons.
