You were looking forward to it and, yes, We are back. The world of travel is reactivating after two very complicated years and there was no better way to celebrate it than enjoying our reference evening in style: the delivery of our 2021 Condé Nast Traveler Awards. An unavoidable event that, given the international situation, could not be held before, so it was celebrated with more enthusiasm than ever!
was the journalist Ainhoa Arbizu who led last night with renewed joy this very special evening in which thanks to the travel sector and recognition of its reinvention work prevailed in recent times. The stage was the flirty The Little Prince Theater , which witnessed the most emotional reunions.
Director of Conde Nast Traveler Spain, David Moralejo, began a night full of surprises by thanking all the tourist companies, not only the award-winning ones, the great effort they have made in these almost two years to survive and continue offering the best possible services. "Today we can celebrate again that the world of travel is reactivated," he exclaimed.

Friends and collaborators of the best travel magazine in the world – like the model and artist Alba Galocha, the actor Alfonso Basave, the influencer Miguel Carrizo, the chef diego warrior or the actor and playwright Ruben Ochandiano, among many others– awarded some of the awards to the most outstanding in the sector, which is reborn stronger than ever while putting the emphasis on sustainability, creativity and commitment with the traveler.
Hotels with personality and responsible with the environment, luxury firms that claim craftsmanship and local, the most exquisite gastronomy capable of justifying a trip by itself, airlines that reinvent themselves against all odds... in short, that new luxury that fits so well with our spirit presided over a night full of recovered joy and the desire to continue dreaming, as well as ideas to be the best travelers of tomorrow.
A night to toast.
The musical performance was carried out by The Well Beloved, who contributed her velvety voice, her sensitivity and her character to a party full of optimism (and a dosed and always welcome melancholy). French Gray Goose vodka was the great ally of our celebration, in which we were also able to enjoy the flavor of Cinco Jotas ham, Ramón Bilbao wines and the support of Cosentino and Solán de Cabras.
One of the most special moments took place when David Moralejo awarded the Special Award for Entrepreneurial Optimism to Javier Águila, "Because of his unique and highly positive spirit, because people like him make the world a place where growing up is the only option."
Entrepreneur, investor, manager and hotelier very committed to sustainable development (he is a director of Biosphere Responsible Tourism and a shareholder of BIoscore), Javier raised the independent hotel chain six years ago Alua Hotels & Resorts. The leading group in the Caribbean, Apple Leisure Group, knocked on his door less than three years ago to enter the Spanish and European markets.
After adding 14,000 rooms and becoming the third hotel chain in Spain, while entering new markets such as Greece, Hyatt announced this summer the acquisition of 100% of Apple Leisure Group.

One of the funniest notes of the night was the entire cast of the Netflix series Valeria –actresses Diana Gómez, Silma López, Paula Malia, Teresa Riott and, of course, the best-selling writer Elísabet Benavent– who, with the good vibes that characterize them, collected a well-deserved award for making us dream during the pandemic and for being the best ambassadors of Madrid.
