Born Street Food: when street food takes over the heart (of Barcelona)

Anonim

It is not that El Born lacks bars and restaurants, in fact it is one of the liveliest neighborhoods Barcelona. You don't even miss the quality product in which it was the epicenter of the city's textile guilds (Under the roof inspired by the Gaudinian trencadís of the Santa Caterina market, authentic gastronomic wonders are hidden, such as old-fashioned grocery stores or bakeries with traditional loaves).

But it has been learning that -after two years of forced stoppage- come back today at noon Born Street Food to Pla de Palau square (until Sunday October 3) and we have long teeth. Because if, we missed (a lot!) its street food, but above all we wanted to try your 'neighborhood flavor', the one that is cooked in the kitchen, but also in the street, by the neighbors and in the open air.

The organization – restaurants and shops linked to the neighborhood and associated under the name Barcelona Born Gourmet – tells us that the festival foodies come back with more desire –and appetite– than ever (specifically today and tomorrow from 12 noon to midnight and on Sunday until ten at night).

That is why we are invited to participate in this gastronomic festival open to the public (admission is free, but a minimum consumption of three tickets is required) which is "a great celebration of fresh and seasonal produce, of the flavors of the neighborhood, and of the real kitchen, with grills, pots and pans at street level”.

There will be food, drinks, music and laughter.

SOME OF THE PROPOSALS

In the 2021 edition of Born Street Food we will meet again with some of the best chefs in the city , like Joan Bagur, who learned in D.F. "with little fists and little pinches" those secrets of 'the majorities' with which he now makes us vibrate (and with which he fills the tacos) in Oaxaca Mexican Cuisine (Have you already tried their grilled corn like in the Coyoacán market?).

And what about the Viñaspre brothers and their mythical Basque grill Sagardi. Tell me how many street food festivals have you been where the coals are lit to cook a fat old cow steak.

We are sure that Dani Rueda will surprise us with his creative tapas, the same ones that have made Tapeo Born famous (a bombeta from Barceloneta, please). The patron saint of the Barcelona Fishermen's Guild will instantly fry the freshly caught fish. The cheese expert Eva Vila will bring us the best references Teak from Vila Viniteca and the specialist Quim Vila will pair all our choices with wine.

There will also be showcookings that will be accompanied by music throughout the day by Fred de Guzzo Club.

Those who like to play it safe will find –as always– impeccable the historical rice dishes 7 ports and the most curious will want to discover what those of the restaurant Cadaques, cooked over orange wood. 'Cause that's the best of Born Street Food , that in this street gastronomic event there is room for everyone and everything (provided it is fresh, rich and freshly cooked).
