The Bay of Dreams did not contribute much to the cinema –except for the scene of Sophia Loren singing*Tu Vuò Fà L’Americano,* Renato Carosone's great hit–, but it fulfilled its function promoting Capri and the Italian Riviera to the American public. It was also the beginning of Christian's love affair with the island. And there, on the slopes of Mount Solaro, In 1996, the famous actor, comedian and showman bought, together with his wife, Silvia Verdone, the splendid villa that today is sold exclusively through Lionard Luxury Real.

The villa, which was commissioned by the symbolist painter and poet Elihu Vedder at the beginning of the 20th century, has belonged to the De Sica family since 1996.

Baptized I Quattro Venti, the villa was ordered to be built at the beginning of the 20th century by the American Symbolist painter and poet Elihu Vedder, who set up his studio there. An idyllic place, a source of inspiration, where many of the great artists, intellectuals, spiritual thinkers and seekers of the early and mid-20th century, including Earl Earl Brewster, to the first to whom the villa belonged for a time, and his great friend D. H. Lawrence –here he wrote a large part of Lady Chatterley's Lover–, the unclassifiable and multidisciplinary artist (as well as nomad and shaman) Joseph Beuys or the painter Cy Twombly.

The villa, completely renovated, but full of stories, has a total of 250 square meters distributed over two floors, huge windows and two large terraces with sea views, as well as an adjoining relaxation area, with a bathroom lined with magnificent mosaics, that can be used as a guest house.
