Majamaja, the ecological cabins through which you will travel to Helsinki.

Helsinki lives by and for the sea. Hopping from island to island is his specialty In fact, most of its citizens live less than 10 km from the sea, which in turn embraces the city on three sides, forming an impressive mosaic of islands. That's why, the maritime nature of the city has been key in its development, as well as tourism that respects it and is responsible.

From this nature, the cabins designed by the Finnish architect, Pekka Littow , known for his small-scale constructions and for winning the award Paris Shop Design Award for his Petite Maison de Couture project in Paris in 2014, a 6-story studio-store built on just 23 square meters in central Paris.

the cabins Majamaja , located about 30 minutes by bike from Helsinki, in Vuorilahdenniemim, were born from the inspiration that his land, the Finnish archipelago, has always suggested to him. This new sustainable project is conceived as a network of interconnected cabins that respect nature and integrate into it and, in addition, they perfectly exemplify high-quality Finnish architecture for their sustainable materials.

“The concept of Majamaja is driven by the need to radically rethink and minimize our ecological impact . Its purpose is to show how small-scale architecture, combined with green technology, can offset large volumes. Majamaja offers inhabitants the opportunity to disconnect from daily routines and offers an educational experience of ecological living, but close to the hustle and bustle of the city”, said its creator Pekka Littow.

Located on the rocky coast and overlooking the sea over the Helsinki archipelago, the five Majamaja cabins are made with a minimalist but modern idea , and above all, they integrate ecological technology with the use of solar energy and water for reuse in a closed circuit system.

Inside they are equipped with everything you need, shower and kitchen, as well as a bedroom with unbeatable views. As it is a pilot project, they do not yet have an opening date, so you have to register on the waiting list.
