It was at a young age when Gaspard de Moustier, one of the founders of Coucoo, I hear the call of nature. This love for the environment and for the corner of the world where its roots lie, the Franche-Comté region , invited him to consider a life project: to create accommodation (or several) between lakes and lush forests.
The Coucoo's first cabins began to hang on the trees of France in 2009 , giving rise to Coucoo Grands Lacs. At that time they did not have water or electricity: offering the most genuine and sustainable experience possible It was the intention of the entrepreneur.
An accommodation designed to reconnect with the environment
In 2012, Gaspard crossed paths with another strong advocate of ecotourism, Emmanuel de La Bedoyère , who would become his partner. Emmanuel had left his job in banking for the family farm, located north of Paris.
The passion of both for nature was the reason for being of his second eco-resort , founded in 2015 on the grounds of the Château de Raray, in Picardy.
As a result, the founders of Coucoo decided to leave their mark in three other inspiring places: again, in the Franche-Comté (2016), but this time on the Swiss border; in the heart of the vineyards of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, in Sorgues (2017); and finally, near the forest of Compiegne , in Oise (2021).
Couco offers the comfort, quality and services of luxury hotels but without ceasing to be totally respectful of the surrounding nature.

Upon arrival, guests will receive a backpack for explorers containing an access card to the reserved cabin, headlamps to guide you through the woods once night falls and bags to recycle.

The savoir faire of the gardeners, producers and farmers , as well as of the beekeepers, bakers, cheesemakers and winemakers of the region is also present in the gourmet baskets of Coucoo.
In this way, every morning, guests will receive a appetizing breakfast made with products exclusively local: teas, coffees, honey, jams, cakes, fresh fruit juices... In addition, apart from being able to enjoy these excellent products on site, visitors can also purchase them at Couco's market , located in each of the locations.
THE LOCATIONS
To the four eco-resorts that currently give life to Coucoo, in 2025 , will be added the opening of six resorts in France and other European destinations , which, of course, will share the same values as their predecessors: the promotion of local products, the preservation and protection of the environment; technological and ecological innovation; and, above all, the reconnection with what really matters. – Coucoo Grands Lacs (Franche-Comte): Founded in 2009 in order to promote the natural wealth of the region and its products, the Coucoo Grands Lacs cabins are spread over 70 hectares of forest and 80 hectares of water. It has 25 cabins -both in the tops of the trees, nine meters high , What aquatic- that have blended perfectly with the environment.

– Coucoo Grands Chênes (Picardy): located in Raray, in the Picardy region, near the historic chateau that Jean Cocteau made famous in his film adaptation of the story Beauty and the Beast , this eco-resort has hanging cabins hidden among the foliage of the forest. the cabin Origin, designed by architect Marco Lavit , which resembles a swarm of bees and rises up to ten meters above the ground, it is the great protagonist.
– Coucoo Grands Reflets (Territoire de Belfort): very close to Alsace, Switzerland and Germany, 23 cabins they rise in the 20 hectares that make up the area of the impressive Lake Verchat. Four of the 11 shelters that hang from the trees of this region are equipped with bird nests.

Coucoo has a total of 102 cabins , including the 14 de La Réserve, which will open in April in the Oise region , near Paris. On the other hand, opening a domain in Ariège, southwestern France, is planned by 2022.
