After Sally Jane Aano, an Australian, and Kjartan, a native of Norway , they would exchange glances at a wedding, destiny and love at first sight would do their thing. After enjoying Australia with that group of friends who had attended the wedding, they once decided to write a wish list; they realized that they both wanted sleep or live in a tree house.
“Kjartan thought: if I ever marry that girl, I will build her a tree house to propose to her,” Sally tells Traveler.es. Years later, Kjartan ended up building this hut, where they got engaged . Magical, right?

Call it destiny, a fairy tale or a magical love story, but that impulse is what led Kjartan to build a tree house almost 10 meters above the ground; the only way to access it was, in fact, by climbing the branches of the tree.
So much so that that first House Not only does he treasure endless memories, he also became the source of inspiration for the Woodnest project , which the architecture studio Helen & Hard brought to reality. "Design and architecture are very important, we wanted a real tree house which, for us, is synonymous with a house on top of a tree . We found the best architects at Helen & Hard, who were able to make our dreams come true," Sally stresses.
Using the knowledge of four engineers and a botanist for the construction process, they built a hut that allows the tree to move freely inside and, in turn, grow without any inconvenience during the next 25 or 30 years.
With panoramic views towards the mountains and the Hardanger Fjord, Woodnest offers the possibility of staying in one of its two tree houses , each with capacity for four people and decorated entirely with products from Norway.

Inside, the cabin houses a double bed and two single beds , in addition to having electricity, a small kitchen, high-speed Wi-Fi and a full bathroom. Each house is also equipped with underfloor heating to acclimatize the place during winter nights.
Also, those guests who wish, may taste a breakfast with a view which includes sourdough bread from the local bakery and with seasonal products; and other experience designed to romantic stays with local Edel cider from the Hardanger area, a plate of local artisan chocolates, cheeses and fruits.
"Our hope is to bring people as close to nature as possible , that they experience quality time with their loved ones. Check out the intricate details of the exterior structure as you caress the fine wood interior or take a hot shower in the middle of nature in a tree house. We want you to take your time , slow down and relax, look out the panoramic windows and take a deep breath."
The cabins are available all year for reservation
