India has inaugurated MAP, Museum of Art and Photography, in Bangalore. The first phase of the museum has been only online , but what will be the first building for a museum of these characteristics in the capital is already under construction. Its first release was released globally on December 5th with the Art is Life virtual program. **
with a collection of 18,000 works of art , ranging from the 10th century to the present day, MAP concentrates all kinds of works from pre-modern, modern and contemporary art, photography, popular and tribal art, popular culture, textiles, crafts and design.
“Our vision at MAP is to reach people from all walks of life and make the collection available to the world. So why should we wait for a physical museum? The digital launch is the next organic step for MAP to achieve our inclusion and accessibility agenda. Truly relevant museums and cultural institutions always need to think and reinvent themselves. Even more so in difficult times like these”, underlines the founder and trustee of MAP, Abhishek Poddar.

As far as the future building is concerned, MAP will be South India's first major private art museum . It will be located in Bengaluru, in the heart of the city, and will feature galleries, an auditorium, an art and research library, an education centre, a specialized research room and a cafeteria.
Its main mission will be to bring art and culture to the heart of the community, making it accessible to diverse audiences. . "MAP will become the most inclusive museum in the country, with a 360º vision, with special attention to people with disabilities," they say in a statement.
